Key to our house?????
Not that I am going to give either my BD or my SS a key yet, they are too young right now, but when the time comes I am very worried that BM will copy it and do who-knows-what. The kids are 8 and 9 and in a few years will need/want access to the house. I am already thinking ahead and planning on getting one of those deadbolts that have a key pad, giving them the code and changing it every week. I just don't trust BM.

I said cross that bridge when you get to it. HALF of the problems w/SM's is that we future worry-no REASON for it now and think too much about all the possible things that CAN go wrong. Remember that thinking this way is detrimental to your health
There's so much in your daily life you DO have to worry about it...you just don't have to even go there mentally now. You'll drive yourself crazy for no good reason.

We have one of those
We have one of those deadbolts. It works great. You can have multiple "codes" in it so DH and I have one that we don't change. I have one that some neighbors and the dog sitter has. We have one for SD. She is convinced there is a computer chip in there and it logs who uses the door so we will know if she gives the code out. None of that is true but it works. It's really easy to change the code if you are worried about something. Plus, it is great that you don't have to worry about losing keys, etc....

I just looked and our brand is "Schlage" and I know we bought it at Home Depot or Lowe's. They keep them in stock - we didn't have to special order it or anything.
My skids will never have a
My skids will never have a key to my house ever! No reason for them to have it. I agree though you need to cross that bridge when you come to it. Stop worrying about it till then ok.
