Well our schedulling delima is worse...the fuckers decided that they need to have the family reunion start at 10 am instead of 2pm until when ever on the 27th...so its like sorry dear two year old your third birthday will not be happening because of daddy's selfish family and his inability to grow a pair and not go for the whole frikien day....and these people barely acknowledge our kids existense so its not like we can just do his birthdya at the reunions with them...what fun is that blow out the candles , make a wish with these people you don't know and see all the presents you don't get...while not getting to see the family that loves and adores you and would shower you with presents (my side of the family)...

If i was in your position i would have told your dh , sorry made plans for the morning...we will do our childs bday with my family and we all join your family's get togehter at 2pm or after. So its not like you guys wont go, but you wont go at 10am cause its booked.
Stand your ground with your dh. He may not have a pair to stand with family but that also says he wont have a pair with you. You tell him the bday is booked for the lunch time and his family will come after it. So you do both events.
I did this to my dh's family and couldnt' give a fuck what time his started. OUR family was booked at that time, we'll see you later.

I agree too. ISM, you and your child MUST come first. Without you, who will stand up for what your child deserves, which is a decent birthday party. Go to the birthday party, and join your husband later. I can't believe your DH would actually miss his own child's birthday party. That would be COMPLETELY lame.
