My weekend as the evil/unappreciated stepmom.

Friday was a no school day. I told the kids Thursday night that they were going to daycare and not staying home. I wake up Friday morning to the skids watching tv in their pajamas. I tell them to get dressed that they knew they were going to daycare. Dh Dh pipes up from the other room that he told them that they were staying home since there was no school. I tell him that I have errands and cleaning that I do on Fridays, and I deserve a few hours to relax, and that they are going to daycare. He gets attitude and says that he didn't know that.

How will they reconsile their childhood memories with their dislike of me?

Took a half day at work today to go to BS3s Pumpkin Party and school and carve pumpkins with his class. He was so excited that I came (only 4 parents came from the two classes that I saw, I was the only one from his class). I can't even tell you how many hugs, I love yous and thank you for comings I got from him. I think this is something he will remeber for a long time.

He had a talk with them. If you could even call it that. It was less than a three minute conversation...for both of them. It began and ended in the time it took me to get dressed. That includes them explaining themselves and him talking to them. Less than three minutes.

Its no wonder that they give me no respect......

Dh came to me on Saturday and had a "business" proposition. The new Nintendo gaming system was going on pre-sale on Sunday and he wanted us to buy a few to put on eBay closer to Xmas to try and make some money. He thought that at a minimum we would make atleast an extra hundred off each system. We talked over it for a while and I agreed that we could use my credit card to buy 4 systems, with the requirement that we sell all 4. He agreed, saying that be didnt want to keep one, and if he did want one eventually we would wait until after Christmas and get one for us after the price drops.

Does it bother you when people lump your bio-kids in with the skids?

Dh made a comment a few nights ago that is still running through my head. And I fully knowledge that I am being irrational in this case, but as a general rule this REALLY bothers me.

Dh: You know, the kids are the best 4 things I've done in my life.

Ive said it as a joke, but its actually true.....

I've said on a few posts that I don't think my Sd9 could pick her baby brother out of a line up if she had to. That's how little she give a shit. The only time she ever interacts with him is when other people are over and giving him attention. Then she become super sister and is over the top super sweet about how cute he is ect. Anything to get the attention back on herself.
