Sometimes i think my skids really need to get their a$$es beat...
Not by me of coarse....or dh. But from their peers. A few good times of a classmate putting then squarely in their place would do them both some good.
Mental acrobatics and revisionist history
Dh called to let me know he was talking to some family members, and apparently BIL has been running his mouth about all his nieces and nephews. About how all the kids in the family are out of control and disrespectful. We are both quite put off by that comment, esp since BIL sees our kids maybe once a year.

So fed up....is it June and yet??
Suprise surprise......skids came home with bad behavior reports from school again. Its to the point that I don't even as if they got any notes in their behavior folder....I ask how many.
I had already planned a fun dessert for them, so I let them both participate even though I shouldn't have. We made easter rice krispy treats. No thank you from either one....they decorated and shaped theirs... Gobbled it up and went back to their rooms.

BS3....too smart for his own good..
Bs3, are out going to find me an egg today at your egg hunt?
Mommy, I think the rule at school is going to be no sharing eggs.....so I guess I will have to eat all the candies myself.... You always have to follow the rules.
Well played son.....well played.

They must have redefined the defentition of the word EXCELLING
Dh got a call from ss's after school program(different than sd's as they had to be seperated due to their fighting) and he is behind on payment. If payment isn't current then the kids can't participate and have to sit in the office. So dh says he's going to drop a check by. This was at 2....when school let out. So I ask why not save himself the trip and just pick up SS at the same time instead of dropping the check and then having g to drive back to pick him up at 6. Ok he agrees to pick up SD and bs3 as well. First time ever getting them this early, but that's another story.
Easter gift post got me thinking....what do you put in older kids easter baskets?
The skids are 10 and 11, so getting a bit old for the usual chalk, bubbles, coloring book. But at the same time I dont want to spend a bunch of money. Any ideas for cheap little basket stuffers for preteens?
in utter shock....didnt/dont even know how to respond
Dh said, in front of all the kids, that SD was his favorite child. What the flying fuck. Even if its true, what parent in their right minds says that out loud in front of their 4 children.
I didn't even know what to say.....I didn't say anything. Not sure if bs3 grasped what he said so I didn't want to get into a huge argument in front of the kids and highlight his comment even more. I just grabbed my two boys and we are at the park right now.
How do I even approach this?
I know this shouldnt bother me like this...but it does.
Dh called me at work a little bit ago and mentioned that the baby (10months) was walking for the skids and bs3. They were all in the baby gated area in a triangle and the baby was walking from one to the other.
i guess our "talk " last night actually sunk in...
See previous blog for background.
Dh just called and he's picking up the skids and bs3 right now. At 5 instead of 6. This has to be the first time ever that he's gone to get the skids before the daycare was closing.
Said he wasn't going to feed them dinner, and I still have to go get the baby....but its progress.

i really wish dh would take half a second to think before he reacts...
I was off work yesterday because bs3 had a stomach bug. I let everyone sleep in and took the skids to daycare (its vacation week for them) when we were all up. Spent my day with a baby who has a double ear infection and a preschooler who had projectile vomitting and waterfall diareah. Washing clothes, cleaning and disinfecting the entire house.
