I know this may sound unpopular

but I have been thinking about something lately. A common complaint here is that the ILs are too close to BM.

Having said that, and knowing about a lot of the BMs' actions, I can certainly understand why this would anger so many people. However, I think the ILs may be acting the way they do so they can see their grandkids as much as they can.

As many of you know, my parents divorced when I was young. They were high-school sweethearts. They grew up together. Their families have known and been friends with each other for an eternity.

A little inspirational quote for all of us

Christmas and New Year's were great...for DH and myself.

A lot of the BM's we blog about seem to make promises to their kids, but fail to act on them.

That happened for the SDs.

In an unusual move, BM promised the kids that they could spend Christmas with her at her parents' home. She didn't follow through. You know what she did instead?

What are the disadvantages of disengagement?

Anon2009's picture

Do you feel that by disengaging from skids, you're sending them the message that they won?

Do you feel that you're sending BM the message that she's winning?

I had to go the disengagement route at one point because I had exhausted all other avenues available and I needed to save my sanity. I know a lot of you have done/are doing it but I know that there are some of you who don't think it's the right thing to do.

Along the lines of StepSorrow's blog...

Do you ever think that BM has found your profile and comments here? What is your proof? Is it in what they say?

I don't think BM has seen what I have said here, but this is for the BMs who do:

BM,

we don't like the feelings we have.

We don't like our negative feelings about you, the kids and your family.

We wish you'd use the child support on the kids.

We wish you wouldn't bash us or the kids' fathers in front of or to them.

We wish you wouldn't withhold visitation.

We wish you'd treat us with respect as humans.

Did any of you see 60 Minutes with Alec Baldwin?

Anon2009's picture

He discussed (a little) his custody case with Kim Basinger. Remember that phone call he placed to his daughter, calling her a little pig?

He wrote a book about his divorce and discussed PAS. I don't know about you, but I haven't read the book. However, I would like to very much.

I think that Kim Basinger is one of the best-looking women to ever walk this planet; however, I do think she tried to PAS Ireland against her dad. Supposedly, Alec and Ireland have repaired their relationship and get along great now.

Sandra Bullock & Jesse James get custody of his DD! Yay!

I am so happy for this little girl because I think Sandra really loves her. I think Sandra has really grown as a person from being a SM. I'm glad the little girl isn't in any danger of being raised in a risky environment. My SDs were raised in such an environment for the first part of their childhoods and I'm happy that Sandra's SD was spared that. Here's the link:

My cast of characters:

Anon2009's picture

Well, everyone is coming up with monikers for their skids, so I've decided on some for mine:

SD15 is Sleeping Beauty. She is the spitting image of my MIL, who was a model. She is a beautiful girl!

SD12 is Annie. She doesn't look like Annie (no red, curly hair) but she has the same spunk that Annie has.

There are my new monikers for my skids!

So SD13 posts on her myspace about how she's so excited about Christmas,

and here's BM's reply:

YOU'RE excited over Christmas? You know, YOU should have the criminal record, not my fiance. Don't hope that you'll be coming over or getting anything from me on Christmas, and I wish the H1N1 had taken care of you and your POS sister. (Note: both kids were very sick for over a week with the H1N1).

Please pray for both SDs...they're hurting really bad from this.
