Gisele had a boy and Bridget's classy statement!
Gisele had her baby boy last night! I bet he's cute! Tom Brady has 2 boys now! Bridget released a classy statement. I wish all of our BM's were like her:

kind of bothers me though
kind of bothers me though that she felt the need to say HALF brother...like to make sure we all knew it wasnt a real brother...as if we all didnt know it is.

If she hadn't said half some might criticize her for leaving that out. I'm not terribly impressed by women who date men who have another lady walking around pg with their baby though so I may be a bit biased.

Yeah, that's how I feel. If she says "half," she's screwed. If she doesn't say "half," she's screwed. I thought it was nice of her to acknowledge the birth period. She said, "please respect our privacy as we welcome the newest addition to our extended family." I thought that was nice of her.

i dont think that if the bm said her son would enjoy a new brother she would have been screwed...we all know its a half, i just didnt think it was necessary for her to add that..but yes it was a nice statement over all.
yeah, its not the ideal situation to date some one who has another woman carrying his child but they didnt know before...but i think that women who get pregnant out of wed lock tend to put too much responsibility on the dad, like because she found out shes pregnant he should stop his life and run back to her. he obviously didnt think things going any where and didnt want to be with her im guessing, but then again im biased because bm lied about birth control to my dh when she got knocked up, but expected that they would just all of a sudden become a happy family............not that dh isnt an idiot for knocking her up because he wanted an easy piece.

I don't think he needs to stop his life and run back to her but I do think some kind of pause in recognition of that he has sired a new child on the way in to this world (think preparing physically, fiancially, emotionally, not spending more money continuing to woo the ladies, etc..,). Again I'm just not a fan of a woman who would knowingly buy into that kind of drama or not want to take a break until the baby was born to me pretty tacky but that is just my opinion and I realize not everyone agrees. And yes, the only birth control a man should count on for certain is the kind he uses and even then not failproof.

I think she is classy.. I think she has shown a tremendous amount of grace over the years.. an amount of grace that anyone of us would jump at for your skid's bms to have.

I agree. She has been beyond classy. Unlike (imo) Gisselle who was quoted saying something to the effect of 'just because I didn't birth him doesn't mean he isn't mine (um, yeah, actually it does. It means he's your skid, not 'yours')'. Bridget accurately described the relationship for the media. I don't take that to mean she goes around all day saying 'half brother' to her child.

I also agree that she's definitely been classy. She could have just stayed quiet and not said anything but I think it shows that BM's don't always have to be crazy, they can accept what things are and accept it with grace.

That's how I feel. I think Bridget has been very classy throughout what must have been a tough situation for her. I know Gisele has a language barrier, but I don't think the "I didn't give birth" part of her statement was necessary.
