7 year old dd has become very inquisitive about why her brother has 2 homes and 2 sets of folks in particular. Blah blah when can she meet his mummy etc? Yea not gonna happen kiddo. If I grit my teeth anymore they will fall out.

So as part of disengaging I take her away a lot on my own. Last week we were flying back in and this guy takes his seat next to us and immediately says hi and starts chattering. Turns out to be incredibly engaging and funny. Him and my daughter end up being the entertainment for those around us. 

So at some point she says to him ' do you wanna be my step dad? I haven't got one get' ( I was actually mid drink and willed myself not to spit it out as it probably cost me 20 pounds )

He laughed and said if you want then winked. I said it doesn't work like that,  she says why not my brothers got one. Michael can be my stepdad !

So all this continued into the airport , I prised her away only for him to come and find us at baggage to say goodbye, and slip his number in my pocket. Cheeky !

Gets home. Next morning im looking for her dance uniform , it's still in the wash, dh has literally sat on his arris chilling every evening. So I stupidly muttered ' I bet Scotlands nice in summer' through gritted teeth..

Cue little madam ' that's where michaels from isn't it mummy? When can we go?'

Dh 'WHOS MICHAEL?!!'

DD: Our friend, he called mummy 'yummy' but  I think I'm yummiest.shrug.

Me: oh ffs giant eyeroll
