Me and my big mouth :S
Well, apparently I sort of ruined valentine's day. We brought SD to get her bank account opened that morning, and somehow, in the course of filling out papers, FH made a mention of me taking his last name when we married.
This is the first time we talked about this issue, and I have mixed feelings on the subject. I just said "we'll talk about it later." And he immediately took that as I refused to take his name, and was very hurt and angry.

SD starts her new school tomm!
Yesterday we got SD registered for school, and she starts tomorrow! We got a tour of the school, a fabulous brand new this fall 112 million dollar school about 3 miles from our home. Everyone was so friendly to us and helpful, her guidance counselor was such a positive, warm person, even students said hi to us in the hall, one even said "this is a great school you'll like it" to SD

Ugh--SD kicked out of school as of today
Well, we just found out that because SD is no longer living in her town, (less than 24 hours) she can no longer attend school there. They will not even allow her to finish out the next 5 days before February school break. We have to go to the school on Monday and get all of her transcript information, and then go to our town school, and enroll her there.
Yesterday we were told they would let her finish out the YEAR there, and now they won't even let her finish out a week. Poor kid, this totally sucks....

Update: looks like it's hitting the fan today....
Last night we got the disturbing news that the lawyer "forgot" that he was supposed to give us copies of the paperwork, apparently the Marshall who is supposed to serve them has had them since LAST Thursday, a full week!!!! I guess FH had called the lawyer earlier this week, but he didn't return the call until yesterday. Suffice to say, we were all extremely POed at this lawyer for dropping the ball.

Need help interpreting the paperwork from the court
Well, the lawyer screwed up, and the Marshall already has the papers, and will be serving the BM any time now!!!
I just downloaded the papers, and it has a "return date" of 2/24. Is this our court date?
I see later it says:
"To respond to this summons, or to be informed of further proceedings, you or your attorney must file a form called an "Appearance" with the Clerk of the above named Court at the above court address on or before the second day after the above return date"

Just when I thought I had figured out all the possible reasons I hate BM, I discover a new one
As some of you know, we had SD's 15th birthday party this past Sunday. BM suggested to SD we have 15 of her friends over our house, (of course) for the party. We had to reign that back to 8 guests, as our house is not suitable for an indoor party of 15 rowdy teenagers, sorry BM.
Even when she tries to be nice, she's still evil + a long talk with SD this weekend....
Things are progressing with our move for custody, (papers officially filed!!!) and, like so many of you, it's almost like BM has some 6th sense about it, and has started to be "nice" to SD. Thankfully, it's not making any difference to SD or to anyone else, because her version of "nice" is ridiculous, it's almost laughable.
Another ZING just for fun....
A couple of months ago SD took of photo of me and used it as a reference for an art project she did in school. She did a really nice job on it; it was on display in the glass case when we went to her school sports banquet in December. Apparently she just got it back, and brought it home and put it on the wall in her room.
BM walked into her room and saw it and said "oh she's pretty, who is that?" (assuming it was one of her friends) "it's northernsiren" SD replied.

Cautiously optimistic--May have SD permantently as of 2/1 !
We had our appt at the lawyer's office on Saturday and it went very well. He seems like a very calm, rational man, and hopefully if he ends up getting involved directly with the BM, this will work out for all of our advantage. The morning of the meeting we did get a bit of a surprise, I have been bugging FH for months to find the custody agreement actual document, plus any other documentation he might have. ya ya ya.
