Feeling wicked
I am feeling very much like the wicked stepmother these days. We have a special master assigned for discussing issues on the childrens best interests. The ex wife is the one that initiated this and we had thought it would be a good idea. This guy designates pick up/drop off locations and organizes the whole schedule for week on week off custody...she rarely follows what the plans are..ex it was DH day and she took the kids away for the weekend, argued it was her time one of the kids start crying no action taken by special master she decides what days he will have to make up DH agrees cuz he just wants to see his kids...I just get soo aggravated because why even pay this guy if your not going to stick to his plans and yet when its convenient for her she'll have one of the kids call asking to come over on her time and when I tell DH no (he was working so I would have had to watch) I become the evil stepmother that won't let her come...do you guys run into this? Do you think I should just let them come my DH says I should cuz they are just kids and don't understand the schedule ( 8,10 and 15)My answer always is no because the master planned that this is your moms time....
You need one easy plan. We
You need one easy plan. We have 50/50 Monday to Sunday. So much easier. There is no bullshit. The kids know and don't ask. We sometimes will have something that rolls over to the others week, but it is rare. Then the parents just ask. No involvement with the kids. There is no asking to come over. They know the routing.
Awesome plan. That's what
Awesome plan. That's what we have. The Wookie used to cut into our week all the time, but now we tell her no. If you want to plan something, plan it on your week. We don't interfere with her, and we would like that same courtesy.

Ours is supposed to be like
Ours is supposed to be like that ie. cut and dry Sun-Friday, but weekends change as my husband works some weekends so on those weekends they go with mom if he is off they come with us...his ex is impossible to deal with do you think just saying no because its your moms time is an ok answer for 10 year old?
"In the final analysis it is not what you do for your children but
what you have taught them to do for themselves that
will make them successful human beings.
A special master was
A special master was appointed by the court, he is also GAL (guardian ad litem) to act in the childrens best interests.
