You are here

ugh, feeling selfish

There are times when I really do have having skids around. Not necessarily for anything they do, just because they are there and it forces things to be different from when they aren't here.

For example, DH knows that I'd kill to be able to sleep in on Saturday mornings so when skids aren't here, he will get up and find something to do while I try, unsuccessfully to sleep past 7:15.

When skids are here, that goes out the window. This morning, at 7:22, I wake up to a dog standing over me, DH loudly shushing the kids, and two kids standing next to the bed laughing and asking "what can we do". Apparently the dog who sleeps at the foot of the bed heard the noise of the kids running downstairs and jumped up in a panic which the kids thought was funny.

Seriously, I have said it time and time again, on Saturday morning, get up, use the bathroom, brush your teeth, then play or watch TV until either I or DH calls for them. When they bother to do that, their noise usually wakes me fairly quickly which is annoying enough, but at least I get to decide whether to get out of bed or to lay around without having two kids breathing down my neck.

All that to say, I already can't wait for them to go back to their mother... On Thursday.

I toy get where your coming from. I do talk a lot of how I can't stand sd. And deep down I really do t mean it. She is just an 8 year old little girl. I just hate that things have to be different when she is around which gives me a bad attitude. It's like life has to stop while she is here. If there is stuff that needs to be down or errand have to be run. We can't do it until sd is back with bm.

Tell me about it!! I'd been asking DH to take me to a new attraction in our city but DH insisted the kids might like it and he wanted to take them...which pissed me off. Then yesterday DH said he'd take us but skids "thought they wanted to go to a football game instead". Now, I actually love football so I was fine with that. But halfway through halftime, kids were bored and of course, DH thought we should leave.

DH and I used to have something of a tradition every year where we pay to watch our states high school play off games, 3-4 games per day several weekends in a row at the end of the season. This was back when DH was letting BM have the kids every weekend. Now that he gets some weekends, we don't do half of what we used to do.

I know what you mean!! No matter what we do on Friday night they are up too early on Saturday.

Right now I'm about to scream, one thing I can't deal with in the morning is yelling and unnecessary talking. The kids and DH are getting ready for their first basketball game and there is far too much of both going on right now.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

You are lucky. I hate cleaning my house now because there's always someone tagging along. And this someone is never interested in helping, just tagging along.

Well DH is NCP, so if I don't clean when they are here I'd never clean. Sad
But I do try to get as much done as I can when they aren't here. It just doesn't always work out that way.

SD3 wakes up at 5:30am!!! SO has trained her pretty well mot to wake me, so I usually manage to sleep in till 7. SO tried talking to BM about how they could get SD to sleep a bit longer and wake at a more reasonable time, BM said that SD sleeps till about 8am at her house.. yeah whatever golden uterus freak!.. probable why BM is such a grumpy cow, 5.30am wake up calls 6 days a week!

Anyway, I have problems with SO waking me up during the night, sometimes he can't sleep so he'll go on his phone, which wakes me up.. and if I can't get back to sleep.. I'll be a b!tch a wake SO up at the crack of dawn! Lol
