SD is slowly moving out while we are out of the house
Well, it appears that SD is moving out rather than pay rent. We noticed she came home the past two nights (comes in after we go to bed and leaves after we leave for work). DH called me at work yesterday afternoon and said her shelving unit was emptied and sure enough, when I got home I noticed that a lot of her stuff is gone and the rest of the stuff looks organized as if ready to be packed and moved. I told DH last night that I can promise she will be home tonight because today is the move day (while we are at work) and sure enough she came home last night. Oh how I wish I could have stayed home from work today to supervise the move. We are very concerned about damage to our home with her trying to move her things out today. Still aren't sure if she will be taking the furniture in her room as it is very old and falling apart. Wish she would take it so that we don't have to pay to have it hauled away. Once she is completely moved out (i'm assuming by this weekend) we do need to have her stop by to discuss money matters as we still have her inheritance in our bank under our name as well as lots of bonds. Talked to DH last night about whether or not we should advise her money wise about the money and bonds or just hand them over, it will be his decision. Nobody has ever taught this girl about money or taxes. At that time I will also ask for our house key back. I can't express to DH how i feel as I don't want to add to his hurt but I am so EXCITED that she is leaving. We are assuming she is moving in with her BF's mom and Dad but won't know until she tells us. She sure better hope her and BF don't break up, because now, not only do they live together but they work together and she gave up all her friends (and family) for him. But I guess it's time for "life" to teach her the lesson we could not. Here's hoping I get home tonight and find her room empty. Part of me is so tempted to tell her, "we were going to put the rent money you paid us aside for you, we don't need your money, we just want to teach you to be an adult. Still not sure I won't

I'm glad for you that she is
I'm glad for you that she is moving out. Definitely get your key back and give her room a makeover as soon as she is completely out and make it yours. No coming back.
I wouldn't tell her what you were planning on doing with the rent money. She may plead to stay and take you up on that deal, or at least try. Best to just be done.
Good point, keeping my mouth
Good point, keeping my mouth shut about rent money. Maybe it will be something "fun" to tell her in the future when she's married with kids ha ha.
As tempted as I was, it was
As tempted as I was, it was not possible today, I have a mandatory meeting and today is actually the day that I work both my jobs (go from one to the next directly). Funny how I can work two jobs (1 full time and one part time) and she can't manage more than 20 hours a week but I digress.
If she does any damage to our house, DH will totally lose his mind (this is our very first house and it's brand new). I will let him handle that.
As soon as she is out, my plan is to completely redo that room for guests that we have coming for Christmas. Here's hoping she truly is moved out by Sunday as that is my free day to work on her old room.

I was going to say the same thing! lol
How exciting! I remember when SS moved out. It was one of the most happy days! Well...for me anyway.
Hubby will never agree to
Hubby will never agree to change all the locks, the house is brand new (6 months old) and it would require 3 doors to be changed and he complained about having to take the one new shower head off and replacing it (didn't have enough pressure to wash my hair). I hate to say it but she's not a very smart girl, I don't think it would ever occur to her to make a copy ha ha.
I wonder if there is some way
I wonder if there is some way to rekey the existing locks? I know when we bought the house we had to put the keys into the lock to "key" them. I can guarantee DH will not pay money for three new locks but if there is some way to rekey the existing locks he will do that.
It sounds like you have the
It sounds like you have the ones that can be easily re-keyed.
Excellent, I will do some
Excellent, I will do some reading of our house material this weekend Thank you
