Sipping eggnog with nutmeg

Sipping eggnog with nutmeg
’Twas the night before, the night before, the night before Christmas and all through the house there is no sign of the Diablas it’s tranquilly quiet without the louse
Dh’s family is getting together for annual cheer. OSD responded to the group invitation that she and YSD sadly (boo hoo) won’t be here.
They’re stuck, a dull Christmas at the dreary, dank home of BM, making a sympathy grab hoping the rest of the family will feel sorry for them.
Elea is happy as a cat grooming her fluffy paw fur, knowing this will no doubt be the best Christmas ever, for sure.
No more BM dumping SD’s off with a passive-aggressive “You’re on!,” “Did you bring your checkbook?” “I have no problem using my own children as a pawn.”
Christmas Day arrival, demand a special meal, temper tantrum on the lawn, pinching, fighting, hitting, banned this year. BM and SD’s can cannibalize each other, we’re in the clear!
Ribbons and bows, cinnamon eyes of a white chested puppy, sipping creamy eggnog, is this a dream? How are we so lucky?
Merry Christmas step-talkers! May you have a peaceful holiday season.

Haha what a bunch of uncouth knuckle-draggers your step diablas are!
Lovely poem and so glad you're drama free for the holidays.
I don't really know BM but
Thank-you. I tried. It was fun writing it.
I don't really know BM but everyone that does tells me how stuck up and snooty she is. My DH's SM tells me that BM thinks she's high class, but she's really not.
I have gotten to know her through her awful, bratty kids.
Merry Christmas! Cheers!

Just DH and me this year. No steps. No travel. I miss my own crew but will see them in the New Year.
Peace on Earth is still aspiration for us earthlings but Peace in my House is a reality this year!

Congratulations on having a peaceful Christmas Merry! Isn't it a relief?
I will be spending the holiday season with DH and my BK's. They are the light of my life.
I am thankful for a peaceful life.
Me, too
Just DH and me. DS and family will stop by tomorrow and Wednesday, I'll drop off my envelopes at DD's house after seeing Mom. Then right back here. I love it.
Just me, my husband and our
Just me, my husband and our bios. We haven't talked to Lying Ingrate and his She-Devil in five years, which has brought me peace. There's unfortunately been drama on my side due to my brother's nut job wife and her mini me, my niece, who I never want to see again. I'm pretty much done with those two, as well as my brother's older stepdaughter. I have no issues with him, my nephews, or his younger stepdaughter, but his wife is the controlling type, so it's unlikely that I'll get to have a relationship with even my brother. He's a grown man but in poor health and controlled by a crazy woman. That being said, my mother decided to cancel our annual Christmas breakfast due to the drama fest. She could just have me and my sister over but she'd probably feel guilty about it so she won't. She can't stand brother's wife either and hits the sauce when she has to spend any time around her. My husband suggested inviting mom over here but she'll probably decline if I do.
MIL is coming over tomorrow so my kids will at least get to see one grandma this holiday. The kids and I went to my aunt's this weekend for her annual get together on my dad's side. I always enjoy that. It is comforting being with them as we all miss Dad. He was the glue that kept us all together and he would be spinning in his grave to see the state my family is in. Luckily my brother and his crazy family weren't there as my aunt didn't invite them. The drama extended to her when my brat of a niece was ugly to her on Facebook and she decided she wasn't going to deal with my niece and her disrespect. She also can't stand brother's wife. So she didn't invite them. It did feel weird without my brother but he hasn't been himself for a few years now. My sister never goes. She quit going after Dad died. I'm starting to think that my dad's relatives are the only sane ones I have besides my kids.
