Losing her manners

AustMum's picture

Did any of your skids / bios skip terrible two but turn feral @ 4?!
SD4 has always been pretty good with her manners, pleases, thank yous, covering her mouth when she coughed etc but now she seems to always need reminding! Shes begun snatching things and yesterday she slapped her cousin in the face! She's an only child and I'm nervous she's starting to become spoilt... I really dislike it when she is rude to people as it reflects back to me wether I like it or not! Is this just a stage?? :?

youre not alone! my SS4 has recently started being extrememly rude. im not sure if its a consious effort to ignore me or if its literally just him being a kid who is spoiled and has just gotten out of the habit of saying please and thank you. I remind him all the time-which I feel is about the only thing to do. Tho my SS4 has also started giving me serious attitude when others are around (H and MIL especially) because he gets away with it for the most part. I constantly correct him-though my H and I have gotten into fights over how "strict" Im being on him, I will not relent. Hope you have the best of luck!!

Haha oh shit and I thought we'd gotten lucky when she was a perfect 2 yr old! Yikes! I'm thinking I'll be needing this site more! And more wine! Wink

I'll just stick to my mantra 'it's all just a stage!' & 'breath'! Haha Blum 3

I suppose a good thing is BM is just as strict(most of the time) as we are

Probably it's fashionable under today's non-parenting methods to delay maturation on the whole.

So today's four year olds or six year olds even act like yesterday's two year olds.

That's my theory and I'm stickin' to it.
