If it feels wrong or bad it usually IS!!! When your Gut tells you DON'T Do It...DON'T!!!

We just got back from 5 weeks of hell and a Vacation I will never forget.
We left for our trip to the great outdoors with high expectations of a great time. Transmission went out and we got stuck in the bates motel for two days. That put us behind in our travel time so we ended up getting the step kids a day after we arrived instead of having a reprieve. I was rather shocked when they arrived. The roles had reversed at first it seemed. The daughter who was a living nightmare the first time around my kids had seemed to settle down in two years time and the little boy we all adored turned into a demon seed. It was not to bad the first days up into the mountains.. but boy that child had a mouth like a sailor. Over and over again he was told not to talk that way but every time he was told it went in one ear and out the other. 11 years old and knows how to play his BD well. Sneaky to blame the other kids for his wrong doings. But hey this smart cookie got it all on video. There were blow outs and arguments and the 7 kids my 5 his two about drove me out of my mind with petty arguments. Then the 13 year old daughter showed her true colors that I remembered well. After getting into trouble with their father and throwing a tantrum in the mountain camp screaming how bad they hated him while running in the dark saying how they wished he was dead and that they wanted to kill him and that they would have him arrested if he touched them...OMG what a drama over being told to apologies for hitting. Hey it only got worse. My kids were told to ignore them and stay away from them and we did just that they were only going to be with us a week .. we only had to last just one week..it was over they were leaving.. they left me and my kids and sister and niece up in the mountains while they drove them home.. we were basking by the river enjoying the sun and laughing the stress all gone no more wars... then threw the trees I saw it.. the head of a child I thought we were rid of.. it was HIM.. they were BACK... OUR MOM SAYS WE CAN STAY ANOTHER WEEK....."THUD".. It was like being hit in the face with a brick. The peace the quiet the plans we had.. but I had to suck up the hate and rage and smile and say great good to have you... I almost felt like this woman did it just to piss me off. I had a family reunion I was going to have to take these kids to and I would have to figure out how to keep them behaved in front of my relatives.
We didn't stay but two more days in the hills then back to town to get ready for a historic family reunion filled with genealogy and people we had never met and family I had not seen in many years.
I couldn't see friends I didn't even get to go see my fathers grave because I couldn't take these kids anywhere with out problems. I finally had to do things alone with out everyone or with just my kids which caused hurt feelings for their BD. The reunion came. So many kids I thought hey they can have fun and enjoy many people I threatened them if they cussed once they would find themselves in the car on their way home regardless. They did great they ate till they couldn't eat any more they got along great and they seemed to have a great time then
BOOOOOOM... his son runs up laughing saying he is going to get hit by my son. His father says why.. He says because I spit in his face.. his father asked why.. because it was funny..He said all this with all my family around him.. I had it. I lost it. I told him he was to sit at the table and not move the rest of the day. His father wimped out about 20 minutes into the sit and made him apologize.
the next morning they had to leave for home and I didn't even say goodbye. Their BD hasn't talked to me about any of it.. he knows how angry I am. I over heard him on the phone with his eldest daughter who is grown saying how awful his kids were. I feel bad for him, he had to wait two years to see them again and was hit in the face full force with the nightmare his x wife has created out of these two kids. They are hateful and rude. I did get one last comment in to the kids after the reunion. That their actions are all on video and I will be sending it to their mother and if their mother wants to start anything we will take it all to court for the lawyers to see. They must of told her because she won't answer her phone when he calls to talk to the kids.

So to all the steps out there who have to live with the worst of the worst situations.. always remember this. Life is to short and to special to let someone else ruin your day.. I have finally come to the conclusion that I am not going to allow this kind of nightmare to happen again. My solution.. Separate vacations!!!
