No Mother’s Day comments from skids
And I am THRILLED! I never wanted any of them to ever wish me Happy Mother's Day. The one and only time I was wished HMD was my first year of marriage to DH and it was from YSS who was in kindergarten. He made me and BM a card.
YSS was with us this year and had to desire to go home to see BM. This is becoming a pattern. I was gone all day so didn't care. But YSS never even spoke to me let alone said HMD. I don't want to me their mother or considered their mother. I had no part I. Raising them and was just fine with no fake comments from any of them! I'm sure BM thinks I am just devastated by the lack of contact from the skids....oh BM...I WANT you to take all the credit for creating these monsters!!

If I got a Happy Mother's Day from SS20, I'd be like ... OK, um, thanks?
I don't understand why stepmothers expect to be acknowledged as if they are the same as the kid's bio mother.

Agree. I have never been acknowledged on Mother's Day, which is in March here - nor would I wish to be. I do not consider myself an anything mother to my SDs, whatever name is given to the role. I am their father's wife and that's it. I can see that if you have a good relationship with your SKIDs (ooh, was that a flying pig?) then they might give you a card and you might be happy about that - but not in my world.
