Quick update

Hi,

Been a while since I've been on here. I've had a lot going on with work, house projects, and pregnancy.

Newsflash

SD16 has a boyfriend. YES! Means she actually wants to go out with other teens instead of suck attention and money out of daddy every weekend.
I don't expect it to last as she is emotionally high maintenance, but it gives us a break.

SS13 has had "the talk" with BM stating he wants to come live with us for high school. He still has another year of school to go, so anything can happen. In all probability it will happen though.

SD now has her treadmill

all is right with the world.

So here is what is funny. I get a call yesterday late afternoon from SO. He's on his way home from work early. There was a miscommunication with the skids and BM. SO said he'd bring the treadmill this past sunday, BUT SS said mom says its going to rain.

SO gets to drop off and there is sdad and BM with a truck. Where's the treadmill? BM actually told SS its NOT raining we will pick it up. Whatever.

SD working out

I ended up subjected to SD16s whining nonsense yesterday.

here is what it consisted of

1. Mom's friend is only going to the gym once a week now. So I can only go then because mom won't take me.
2. Mom was mean for not meeting you with the treadmill so that I can work out at home.

problem with these statements?

Dad has a family membership to the Y. Only occasionally does SD go on the weekends. SS13 goes every chance he gets. SD either watches a movie in her room, has her dad take her shopping, or sleeps while they are gone.

Dynamics of father's/daughters

I've been really giving this a lot of thought due to this past weekend. I realize I'm blogging a lot, but I have a lot to get out. i truly appreciate everyone's thoughts.

BM and SO did not have a good marriage. They ended up together in their teen years, he got her pregnant and "did the right thing". Its easy to see he never really respected her and didn't really feel like she was a partner. He was there to do his duty as a father and he was sort of a husband. She cheated on him I'm sure to make up for feeling a lacking of closeness with her husband.

Disney dads who cater/follow their children around

Out of curiosity, how many of us deal with a disney dad who makes it all about the skids when they come for visits? I feel like they are guests to be entertained.

I'm getting better at just letting go. Sometimes I go along and enjoy the time, sometimes I want quiet and do my own thing.
