Tired of BM thinking she can fraud everyone and not be caught
I was going through the mail and found a letter from the IRS. I thought it was a bit early to have them knocking on my door since we haven't filed yet, but lo and behold, it was a letter informing us that someone else had also claimed the skids on their taxes. According to the letter, if we are legally able to claim these skids, we didn't have to do anything at all.
Hubby gets to claim both skids on his taxes unless BM gets a full time job (like that will ever happen!) and then the split the skids. This has happened once before when BM's father claimed the skids on his taxes about 6 years ago and we had to be audited and all that crap, but it all turned out fine, since we have the legal right. But it ended up tying up our refund for 6 months, and I really don't want that to happen again... sigh.
So I'm assuming that BM had her new husband claim the skids on his taxes last year and didn't tell him that he didn't have the right. BM is digging a hole for herself. I already know that the husband is being garnished for a debt BM didn't pay. And I know this is the kind of debt that would have accepted $25 a month and give you years to pay, so the only way to be garnished is to just refuse to pay anything and ignore the notices. We got a phone call from a collection agency looking for the husband about 2 weeks ago too. This is eerily similar to what happened to Hubby and what eventually led to the end of their marriage (other than the fact that he just flat out couldn't stand to be with her). BM takes control of the finances and then you can just kiss your money goodbye. Poor new husband, he's a nice guy, and doesn't deserve her. We had noticed that the skids weren't getting the weekly manicures and biweekly hair appointments that had been going on for the past year. I guess she's run through his money already. Didn't take her very long. I wonder if he has any idea what is happening to his finances and credit. If he does know anything, it will only be the things she can't hide. She managed to hide $30K in debt from Hubby, so who knows what she has been able to hide now.
Personally, I really just wish karma would catch up with her and kick her in the behind. I'm sick of knowing about all this crap and not being able to do anything about it.
