Pretending to parent
My H made a big to do telling me this morning that his daughter 12 was only getting fruit and vegetable snacks and salads for meals on his time. She is very overweight, as in the fattest girl in her whole grade, the fattest or almost fattest everywhere she goes in public. She's 12. I am totally disengaged for years and cordial only, keep contact and conversation as minimal as possible. So out of the blue he tells me this. Like we weren't even talking, it's not like it flowed with the conversation. Even if he actually did it, he only sees her every weekend to every other weekend, so it wouldn't even make a difference. So out of the blue, he tells me this. I think because he enjoys pretending to be a parent, maybe he wanted me to admire his parenting. Hahahhahhaha.
So he gets her Taco Bell. ,maybe 6 hours after his bragging about fruits and vegetables and salads.. Then he took her to a movie, where I'm sure he will get her popcorn, soda, candy, nachos, whatever she wants.
It's his pathetic bragging and it's all a fake lie. He's one of those people that thinks lying about doing something is as good as actually doing it. Oh yeah, like one time this is how stupid he is and how much he loves lies and bragging. His daughter tells him one weekend that she got straight As. So he's gonna take her on a spending spree at the mall followed by Cheesecake Factory. So I just say that's great and move on with my day. I'm thinking he hasn't seen the report card, he hasn't confirmed any of this with her mother, he hasn't checked the parent portal online. So just out of curiosity I checked it. She actually had an F. 2 Ds. One A. The rest B and C s. But in his mind lying about good grades is the same as actually getting good grades.

Delusional Disney Dads! Now that's a reality show I would watch!
He would never actually do
He would never actually do anything like that, his parenting is limited to doing fun activities, going out to eat/getting fast food, and shopping. He would never actually do anything that requires effort, research, or saying no ( discipline) in any way.
