:O

So.....SD BM hasnt seen her in almost two years....after a year and a half she finally got in contact with us to see how she was doing (big shock)....well we proposed the idea of me adopting SD and surprisingly she agreed to it....I sent her the papers for her to sign since she doesnt live in the same state that we do and after a month I got them back today....Next step is to talk to a lawyer to make sure everything is in order before we file them....does anyone in the state of California know what the process is going to entail??? I have some idea but it would be nice to hear it from someone else....Thanks in advance.

I have no advice, but congratulations on your adoption coming up. Wow, big step for everyone.

Good for you! I don't have any advice either, but I would save back like 2-500 bucks just in case. I know you have to file a lot of stuff to get this done right.

Once the paperwork is filed the three of you are led into the judges chambers where he determines that you are fit to be a mother by seeing how you're dressed I guess and approves the application.

I did it without an attorney with my wife's first born and ended up paying child support on the kid for about 8 years. There is nothing to be gained that I can think of and many things can go wrong with a kid before its over.

Amazing. I don't know the rest of your story but just the facts you have posted here are amazing.
