EXCUSE ME - who the hell are you talking to?!?!?
I should have expected a few/several bumps in the road (egg in face) with SD13 ups and downs.......here it is
Yesterday my BD11 and I were gettin along GREAT until I told her no about something and that's when the txting war began. I told dad (he was at home; I was at work) to take her phone away for the night. End of story.
After dinner - we were all home then- SD13 gets an attitude because we (the parents) were talking about taking the cell phones at a certain point in the night. She proceeds to say things like - I don't think so; I AM 13 YEARS OLD!; I txt all night - I don't sleep.... Like a snot.
I lost it a bit and said "Who are you talking to like that? I don't say much; but I can't believe your father is allowing you to talk like that. You want a say in things then fine - but don't talk to us like pieces of crap." (WOOOOO that felt good).
Dad just stood there for a bit. I left. she muttered something and slammed her door. Dad actually went in and told her I was right!!
I just don't see how it is fair that she gets to walk around like her sh*t don't stink while my children get punished for being disrespectful..
Right??
You can do that!! that is so
You can do that!! that is so funny! Because her excuse is "I need it for the alarm clock in the morning) eventhough she has one!! sprint.......
I have to check into it; that would be SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO funny
You guys need to set some
You guys need to set some limits on the phones. You are asking for problems allowing them to text all the time. We take it up at 9:00 PM and they are on the chargers in the kitchen. If these kids don't have boundaries and limits they have higher expectations for what they are entitled to. Your SD showed that with her attitude. She feels she is entitled to have that phone and have no limits. Good luck she sounds like she is going to be fun as she gets into her teen years...it just gets more frustrating.
I agree with you Jsmoms -
I agree with you Jsmoms - 100%. I told DH that if we keep giving and giving and expect NOTHING in return - why the hell would she give anything - she's not loosing anything. And I am not saying she is a bad kid; she gets up, gets good grades, but it is just the way she talks to us - like we aren't worth her time; almost like she wants to say "who the hell do you think you are talking to - I am 13 years old and I can do what I want."
She will be 14 this month; I can hardly wait......next thing she'll be asking for boys to sleep over!!
He says - if you don't give her freedom she'll run mad when she gets it.
I say - If you give too much freedom they will run with it!!
Just reading this, I get the
Just reading this, I get the urge to take the little darling by the hand, march her in the bathroom so she could witness the “burial at sea” of her cell phone, as I flushed it down the toilet.
I must be getting old because this texting, cell phones, hand held games are really beginning to annoy the crap out of me. I am getting so sick and tired of seeing people (even adults) wandering around preoccupied with these things.
i'm not even in my 30s yet
i'm not even in my 30s yet and i'm sick of it too.i don't think it's an age thing I think it's just a 'fed up' thing.it's like come on people there ARE other things in the world beside your cell phone and computer!
Right before Christmas I was
Right before Christmas I was in Walgreens, listening to a woman on her cell running her mouth about how she was not paying her mortage because she was walking and she was also running up her credit card debt. I think everyone in Walgreen's heard it.
We were out an Wildlife park, some little bitch was on her cell phone the entire tour...telling her BBF about what was going on. Bad enough but she was pushing all of us around to get a better look for her friend. I had to control myself from pushing her off the damn bus, into the Zebra compound....I thought it would have been a great photo op to see the Zebra's kick the crap out of her.
I really can't stand it when people are in public bathrooms and flapping on thier phones, that is nasty.
Don't even get me started about cell cameras.
You are right there is a world out there besides that damn phone and computer. I feel like a hostage at times because I go to school on-line...it sucks. But it's the only way I can get my degree and work with Stink's schedule. There are days I want to pushing this frigging thing out the window. I moved cross country, I really miss the days of hanging out on my friends now we keep in touch with the computer...I hate it, I would rather see them.
I didn't have a cell phone
I didn't have a cell phone when I was 11. Why do kids need them now? What do the possibly 'need' to be texting about? It's trouble if you ask me.
I didn't get a cell until I turned 17. Saved up every paycheck I had for an entire year and paid for my car and cell phone MYSELF. And that's how I think it should be. That's how it will be with my children. Teaches responsibilty.
Ha!! I didn't get a cell
Ha!! I didn't get a cell phone until I was 30!!!!!!!
and my BD11 knows I will look at it and knows I can; (she erases everything...LOL)
buy my SD13 will look right at you and tell you that YOU will not look at it - it's her phone and then she'll kick you out of her room. Excuse me?? is she paying her cell phone bill, is she paying rent. I just can't believe the things some kids are ALLOWED to do.
I can't believe it either!
I can't believe it either!
