Beyond grossed out....
So I know Step kids are feral with absolutely no manners but tonight’s Performance was over the top. I decided to watch a movie with DH and step kids. Something I almost never do as the kids like stupid pee wee Herman type comedies and refuse to watch anything else. Well SS11 was sitting on the couch with me. I happened to look over at him and he had his finger Shoved up his nose digging away and when he found what he was looking for he Popped it in his mouth. He not only did this Continuously for 40 minutes but had no shame. There was no trying to hide what he was doing or did he care that I told him I could see him and to stop. Of course DH says nothing. Remember he’s 11 not 4. Now add he has a cold so of course he does not cover his mouth when he coughs. I’m taking mouth WIDE open coughing with no attempt to cover his mouth sitting next to me. So Effing gross. After 40 minutes I could not take anymore without gagging and left the room.

My SSs are gross too. They are feet diggers. If we’re watching TV on the couch, I see them doing it out of the corner of my eye. I’m like, ‘dudes, feet. Go wash your hands’ every single time. They get it from their mother. Also, I feel you with the coughing. My SS11 does the same thing. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but unless it’s enforced in the other home, we are just wasting out time.

Honestly these kids are so rotten bad that nose picking/coughing in your face is the least of their issues. I think both DH and BM just pick their battles and “manners” are at the bottom of the list.

Mine are the same way. I love my DH, but he left the heavy lifting up to BM when they were young (he worked away from home for the week and came home weekends). And now I’m pretty sure the boys are ruined. They don’t always flush the toilet. They pick their nose and feet. They cough and sneeze all over. Snot actually shoots out of SS14’s nose because he doesn’t cover it. He also picks his fingernails down to next to nothing and flings them all over the house and cars. They are just honestly disgusting people.

Rather than you leaving, send SS outside. Explain that picking his nose and eating his snot balls is a private activity and he will not be allowed to do it anywhere in the house.
If he coughts without covering his mouth... same thing. Oustside immediately. Weather does not matter. If his hacking, caughing, picking his nose, and snacking on boogers outside in a driving blizzard.... he may just learn something.
Lather, rinse, repeat.

You have my sympathy -SS9 does this all the time only he doesn't always eat the stuff from his nose - he wipes it on whatever is closest - including BS if he is anywhere near. We keep a blanket on the couch when he is over and I refuse to sit on it while he's there - I just can't - so disgusting. After he leaves we have a 'sanitizing' session for the entire house he's been in. There are nose booggies everywhere. So disgusting. He also coughs and sneezes all over everyone and everything - but then he never closes his mouth period so why should he cover it when he has to cough.

SS wipes his boogers on the wall, couch, doors. I find then dried up and nasty all over the house. Oh don't get me started on the Toilet. Piss EVERYWHERE. On the lid AND FLOOR. I only use the master toilet now as I'm sick of stepping in piss with my sock feet or getting a wet ass from piss on the seat. Yes I've complained to DH till I'm blue in the face. DH just cleans it up instead of making step brat.
