worried about childcare
so my DH doesn't make very much money. when BM filed for CS about 3yrs ago the state made him pay retro from the time he got served. thats fine. well now that he is all paid off, obviously her monthly CS isn't as much as it was. she used the CS money for daycare so she could work. well now it doesn't cover all of it anymore. before she said she just wanted him in his sons life and she would make it work. well now that it doesn't cover it we are getting worried she may go back on her word. we had financial problems before she filed yrs ago, things are no better. so i guess my question is if he makes such little money will the judge still grant her childcare if she goes? we already have her on the insurance and she gets CS. we live in IL. any ideas?
It's no guarantee that he
It's no guarantee that he will have to pay anymore. In some states, CS is figured as a percentage of the NCP's income. One kid 20 percent, two kids, 25 percent, three kids, 30 or so and so on.
Nope BlendedFam once again,
Nope BlendedFam once again, you're wrong. That's the problem with absolutes like ALWAYS - that's why making it habit to use "never" and "always" is the calling card of someone who is often disproven.
I live in Texas and DH has
I live in Texas and DH has never had to pay childcare on top of CS. But my point was - there are exceptions to every rule. So ALWAYS is always (heh) dangerous.
No, childcare is in NO WAY
No, childcare is in NO WAY even mentioned in the order.
Does it make sense that the parent receiving CS should be responsible for clothing or food or extracurriculars?
We've had custody for two
We've had custody for two years, so hopefully it shouldn't come up. We won't be asking it of her. Not like we'd get it anyway. NCP BMs rarely have to pay what NCP BFs do.
I am def counting my
I am def counting my blessings. She said daycare by her is 350 a month. I can't afford another $75 a week to pay that. She has a 401K and stocks. I think she should invest in her child and and not all these other things. We don't have any plans for the future. I'm trying to get by day by day!
It depends on the state in
It depends on the state in which you live....everything from how often she can ask for a modification to what expenses are factored....
