One Officially Down, Two to Go...
OSS turns 21 today. NYS is BM-centric so CS goes to 21. Although he emancipated himself accidentally shortly after 19 (moved away from the mothership and the Girhippo hoped we wouldn't find out) it is a relief that officially he can't re-emancipate now as he never seriously went to college (he enrolled just long enough to get the student grants and loans then withdrew)as the CO requires.
Meanwhile the registrar at the community college that SD (stb 19) is supposedly attending has suddenly gone quiet after an official request by Chef for her attendance status...hmmm.
YSS (stb 15) is turning out to be quite the disciplinary problem child in school--I'm positive that if there were no CS gravy train for him, the Gir would be dropping the monster she (and to a lesser extent Chef)created on my doorstep. Scary!!

1 down 2 to go.... for
1 down 2 to go.... for another 6 years lol....
if SD does not go to college what does it mean for Chef... no |CS?
no college=she needs to be
no college=she needs to be employed, which she is. So CS needs to be reduced accordingly.
Your DH needs to stay on the
Your DH needs to stay on the ball with the college. Even if that means paying a bit to get a court order for the information.
How much will it save him in the long run
I understand supporting your children but a 19 year old who isn't in school isn't a child.
Who is paying for OSS's
Who is paying for OSS's loans? Ridiculous. And BM hoped you wouldn't find out he moved out? I do not envy you.
yeah. because all 3 are
yeah. because all 3 are PASed out she thought we wouldn't find out and she would keep right on collecting CS for him till 21. Boy was she PISSED that we did find out courtesy of my Fakebook acct!! She was caught red handed NOT co parenting like she claims in front of the authorities.
I'll be amazed if the
I'll be amazed if the Registrar actually gives Chef the information. I think FERPA prohibits it unless SD signs allowing it.
When mine went to college, even though I was paying, information (including bills) went to them not me. Unless they showed me grades, I never would have seen them.
I did have more leverage than Chef. I was paying. If they had refused to show me grades I would have stopped paying.
Chef probably will have to have the court compel SD to prove attendance. I would think he could do that pro sea.
I didn't even think of that.
I didn't even think of that. DD was 18 when he started college and they wouldn't tell me a thing until he gave them permission.
I live in a state where you can get child support terminated if the student or CP doesn't provide enrollment information and grades to the NCP.
He's okay with FERPA because
He's okay with FERPA because he claimed SD as a dependent last year due to my prodding so technically speaking he can get the info
Then I'd show up at the
Then I'd show up at the Registrar office (with a copy of my tax return, with my income blacked out) and not leave until they provided the information.
In New York state a father
In New York state a father would be a fool to go to court pro se in Family Court. Uber high conflict so Chef needs a lawyer each and every time.
UPDATE: registrar emailed
UPDATE: registrar emailed Chef and reiterated that SD is enrolled for Fall 2017. DUH. Chef wrote back: "Thanks, I am concerned she is not attending."
