O/T Miracles DO Happen!

As you may know, Chef and I have a business together (sadly).  Anyway Chef, about couple years ago, grew very tired of a local supply house because the new manager was horrid and many mistakes were made.

I liked the old supplier because they just took a credit card as a point of sale instead of getting a statement at the end of the month and so many days to pay Etc plus they gave gift cards to a local grocery store.

About a little over 2 years ago Chef decided to migrate to a big supply house that has operations in the two midsize cities that we live between.   Their prices were good and at first they were right on top of things.

Their accounting system however is an absolute nightmare.   I'm still fighting for them to not charge for a return simply because they lost it ( 40 gallon electric water heater) and when it comes to tax exempt customers it takes them two or three months to recognize that an order is tax exempt.

This is a case-by-case tax exempt basis and not something permanent so every week it changes (aka NYS form 120.1).  They do have gift points which is nice but I would prefer straightforward transactions IE the old local supplier.

Well about 6 months ago the OLD supplier had another change of management where they booted out the horrid manager.  He was replaced by somebody who knows what they're doing.

The final straw came this morning when Chef went out to do an install and the big supplier forgot a major part because the salesperson did not know what they were doing and didn't know the items went together.  The big supplier has been making lots of mistakes in the last 3 months due to overhiring people who can just fog up a mirror-- is the word on the street.

Chef finally made the decision to go back to the old local supplier!  Again, it had to become a problem for him to make a change. When I mentioned at the onset that I hated the new supplier's accounting system and could see it was disastrous, that was no big deal to Chef and that I just had to "deal with it."

I guess this is not so off topic after all because it proves that you have to make it a problem for the guilty Daddy in order to see changes.  If issues just affect stepmom only it's "no big deal." (TM)

This is so true. They are all too willing to let SM suffer in silence so long as it doesn't affect THEM.

They don't want to take back anything.  Just have to put up with it.  Now with Amazon and internet supply houses. It's coming a free for all
