BM and SD putting on a show
Football on Friday. My BS(15) is really good. I mean he is a tank. He and I have been working together since 2008. In the gym etc. I coached all his sports until his freshman year of high school and even then his freshmen coaches asked me to help.
I try to hold my emotions on his mother and his half brother's(21,29) and sister(24). None of them have ever come to any games. I mean ever. This would make the 3rd actual game that his sister ever came to in the past what almost 8 years? Mom is just the same. I had to beg her to come with me to his games and be a part of something he loved so much. The age old "im tired" (she never worked more than 30 hours in a week)....
So I guess I get frustrated that all of a sudden they just show up. After X left, she has been acting like mother of the year. Luckily BS(15) knows better but even still he is just trying to make the best out of this. I am too.
I should just be glad that they are finally showing an interest in him. I mean he is an amazing young man. Had to work through emotions with them at the game. Like they actually care. Well I whined enough lol. Moving forward with emotions. After I realized how silly I was being. I have just spent so much time with him, and they refused. I saw the disappointment he had when no one but me would show up at his games or practice.
Ahhhh venting done. Now that I am less emotional, I hope they go to every game and give him the attention he deserves!!

Yep, after the breakup a lot
Yep, after the breakup a lot of foty's and moty's come out of the woodwork that barely gave a rip before. Oh well, at least you know it is nice for him for them to be there even though they never made the effort before. Let them put on their show if the benefit is to him. You know the real deal. Does he live with you?
Yes he lives with me. His
Yes he lives with me. His mom left all of us to pursue a woman shes only known a few months. Its 7 months now and I could not be happier. Neither could he. Yes just grin and nod and you said it best "if the benefit is to him." Thats all that matters.
Your son will know who was
Your son will know who was always there for him. I am glad for his sake that BM is trying to make it to his games. Although, I am sure it is more for herself than for him. She might be trying to fix her image as a mother or deal with the guilt of her unsupportive parenting thus far.
Yep I agree and I hope she
Yep I agree and I hope she can stem the trend of disappointment. Either way he will be fine.
You know I get worked up on
You know I get worked up on BM playing mother-of-the-year sometimes. I get it, it's annoying to overhear her cackling in the bleachers how much of an athlete "her" son is and that he's loves sports just as she did when she was a kid while you sit there with flashback recoil of all the shit she gave when we asked to put him in this sport or that sport. I have to remind myself to listen to DH when he sees my veins start showing and my eyes cross; he tells me: she's faking it, I know because I wasted more than half a decade with her. Eventually she will give it up, the compliments the other parents won't be enough to keep her in the bleechers in the heat, in the cold, in the mosquitos, in the rain, in the early morning, in the middle of the day" He's right. I know he is. I just wish I could fast forward her narcissism so that she's over it already so I don't have hear about it.
Yep thats about it in a nut
Yep thats about it in a nut shell. I still half hope that she will turn a leaf and be the mother she should have been years ago but oh well. I know I will be there. And yes when her new relationship gets in the way of his sports, he will take a back seat. It will not phase him though, and eventually she will be the one who will be missing out. Kids are pretty smart.
