Summer of freedom...what would you do?
SD7 is off to spend the summer with her BM in a few days so in theory (unless BM throws any spanners in the works) my husband and I will have 2 months child free.
We are thinking of starting to try to expand our family in the autumn with our own kids, so this potentially could be our last childless summer for a long while. What would you do with a child free summer?
Our thoughts are to get out and enjoy the city more, I want to do some art projects and maybe take a break away somewhere if we've the money. What would you do if you had two months of summer child free?

Having no break from the kids
Having no break from the kids is one of the things that I'm dreading about being a parent..though I'm sure there are other things that will make up for it!
Seems my husband has some ideas about what he wants to do, he came home tonight with some flowers for me (and SD - I'll ignore the fact that he had to get her some too for now) and some sexy undies (just for me, none for SD - just to be ultra clear).
Lmao if he'd gotten both of
Lmao if he'd gotten both of you some sexy undies I'd be suggesting you spend the summer finding a good divorce lawyerM
Sex, sex and more sex.
Sex, sex and more sex. Seriously, sex!
I agree.... Sex, sex,sex..
I agree.... Sex, sex,sex.. More sex.. The only projects we would have to do if patch some damaged Sheetrock and repair or replace the other things we would break!
HAHA! No doubt! I don't care
HAHA! No doubt! I don't care if the kid is there or not. Don't be hanging around my doorway if you don't want to hear me making it with your Dadddyyyyyy.
Its a trick I tell you!!! We
Its a trick I tell you!!!
We had the 4th of July weekend, kid free, dangled in front of us. Weekend plans were running thru my brain.
Alas, BM can't take SD bc they are doing adult things when BM goes to visit her mommy and step daddy and this trip was planned a year ago.
When she told DSO this a few days ago, he replied back You sure didn't seem to mind ruining a few adult trips we had planned when you refused to take the skids.
BM went to visit her mommy twice last fall, of course those trips were during school so SD couldn't go on those either.
This does worry me. I'm
This does worry me. I'm trying to be positive... BM won't have the money to buy SD a plane ticket back and at worst SD can stay with my MIL if BM does her usual trick of not being able to cope with her own daughter for more than 10 days at a time. We will see. On the other hand my husband is worried that BM won't send SD back at the end of the summer.
I honestly don't make plans
I honestly don't make plans anymore, or I ask my family to help out if its something I really want to do.
SD is 14, so we will be able to do more in a few years time.
I hope BM wouldn't keep her from you guys. I really wish my BM would keep SD, but they don't have a good r'ship and she's not too bad.
Oh those amazing kid free
Oh those amazing kid free days....I haven't had a kid free summer in 20 years. But I cherish the few kid free weekends we get.
I was really looking forward to a kid free long weekend over the 4th....BUT now that is not happening.
BS17 has decided he will be staying with us and not seeing BD this weekend. Im not going to lie and say it doesn't really
disappoint me a bit. I love my BS with every ounce of my being...but he is getting very high maintenance lately and his best friend has a health issue which has prevented them from really doing much together.
If I had a kid free summer I would probably be tan, fit and drunk. OR maybe do a ton of traveling with DH when we could get away.
ENJOY!!! And yes, once you have your own child...No more free anydays...
