Make Up

what everyone's opinion on letting a 5 year old wear make up??
My SD5 is your typical girl and like to do "make overs" and where make up, which i don't see a problem. My issue came when one day after she got out of the shower I told her that i put a pretty dress on her bed to wear because we had a party to go to. she then said that she needed to put on make up to be beautiful...i told her no she didn't need make up to be beautiful she already is, but she insisted that she wasn't beautiful unless she wears make up...i know her BM puts glitter eye shadow on her nothing serious just see a sparkle when her eyes are closed and i don't mind a bit of make up for her dance show she did but I don't like the idea that she can't be pretty without make up on!

She stopped asking to wear make up when she is here, only now when she does "make overs" with her friends or family. I know BM is the type of person who rarely goes out without her make up and hair perfectly done (she always has been like that..s even before she had kids), me on the other hand only wears make up at work (so i don't look so tired lol) and the odd time I have a night out (I dont know how moms find the time for hair and make up lol I know I don't have the time lol)

Its something petty, i just what opinions, I don't want SD5 or BM1 to think they aren't beautiful just as themselves, i know when they are older that'g gonna be a harder thing to get across to them but I think a 5 year old is too young to worry about that.

Thats what i personally think anyways

Yeah Playing with make up is fine with me. I always throw away the dark colors (black/dark blues) that they get from their mom and sister. That isn't play make up. lol.

They still try to sneak out of the house with the play make up on if they know I'm busy and in a hurry getting the baby ready. I still always catch them. haha

Yes playing makeup at home is fine. No makeup is allowed to be worn out of the house. My SD7 has had play makeup for a few years now. She was also allowed to wear it at a dance performance. I was allowed to wear real makeup at 13.

Children's make up that is see through, played with at home is fine. Actual adult or teens make up is a big fat no.
