Post Thanksgiving
I think I can say I am pretty proud of myself that I can pull off an entire Thanksgiving dinner all by myself now Not that we had a big gathering as both our families live in other states. So it was me and dh, junior, my BS17 and his girlfriend and my BD20 and her boyfriend. Junior sat at the table with the kids and said not one word to any of them. Didn't even look up from his food. The only words he spoke was "What's this?" when he looked at my green bean casserole. After feasting he went right back up to his cave where he spends his whole life other than going to school. Trust me, I prefer it that way so I don't have to look at him!
This is where I am starting to feel so bitter. This kid speaks to no one in this house. Only speaks when someone says something to him and usually one word monotone responses. He speaks only to his dad when he wants something. He has this look on his face like he's too good for all of us. I literally feel like I am feeding this kid and providing his lazy ass with a bed to sleep all day in (he sleeps until 1:00 or 2:00 on the weekends and spends the rest of his day and night playing video games sitting on his stinky bed with dirty sheets) and free internet. He is taking up useful space in my house.
As I've said in previous posts, my DH is a minimal father. He engages very little with this kid and he parents out of obligation because BM is away for awhile.
Just frustrating I live with this. Didn't ask for it. Didn't want it. Not because he's a step kid either, don't get me wrong. It's because it's this weird ass kid that everyone I know thinks has something wrong with him, including myself but his family and father refuse to see it.

Thanks for the
Thanks for the compliment!
When he first moved here we all did things but now it really seems like no one in the house wants to be bothered with him. He used to be close to my son but now they don't talk. I think my son thinks he's weird too.
He's almost 15. I think you
He's almost 15. I think you nailed the cyberspace thing. That is all the kid does. Computer or xbox. My dh tried when he first got here but I think he just wanted to be cool dad. Now he just searches for something to even say to him most days. I tell myself one day this will be over but getting there will be a struggle.
Sounds just like my SS. He
Sounds just like my SS. He is 19 and my hubby still treats him like he is a child. He sleeps in til at least noon everyday, always has some form of electronic apparatus attached for every second of the day. Barely showers, is growing these god awful "sideburns" that look like big fuzzy pork chops that are growing into a non shaped neck beard. Gross, and my hubby and IL find him so witty and funny. Swear to god he sat in the same chair on his laptop for 13 hrs straight yesterday.
You pretty much described
You pretty much described mine right there, except for the age. Right down to the fuzzy sideburns (his fathers never bothered to show him how to shave). Mines going to be 15. And you're right about everyone finding him so witty and funny. I think he is some kind of jeckyl and hyde. Outside this house he must be someone else because I think he's got a horrible personality.
