Text to DH from his kid last night.....

DH texted his kid last night for two reasons. One, a EF1 tornado touched down in the town she lives in (by the way, we don't get tornadoes here) and the second was to find out her work schedule. It's her weekend with him but she just got a new job and so visits will depend on if she's working or not.

However in the middle of their texting, his kid asked if she could call him later as (and I quote) "My mom is really pissing me off."

I predict the relationship between Uberskank and the kid will implode sometime around the end of October. At that point CS will start going directly to DHs kid (she'll be 18 and a senior in HS) and she has a job. Uberskank is all about money, so I suspect she'll ask for the CS and for rent money. She is going to do her best to get as much money from her kid as possible.

I cautioned DH that no matter what his kid say about her mother, he only needs to be sympathetic and supportive but DO NOT BADMOUTH Uberskank. Her side of the family has a long history of dysfunction (her great grand mother, grand mother, mother and now Uberskank). I said no matter how upset she gets with Uberskank, you know and I know that they will kiss and make up. Look at GGM and GM, look at GM and Uberskank. The pattern will certainly continue with Uberskank and you kid. You have to tread lightly here.

So expect some amusing posts later this year. I hate to be amuses at the expense of Uberskank and DHs kid. Oh wait....no I won't.

I so wished that we would live in a state where any CS paid after age 18 goes directly to the "child."

My DH is finally finishing up CS for his two. The oldest will be 20 next month and she's been living on her own since age 18. CS continued to go to BM.

It's kind of great. She has to be in school though and has to fill out a bunch of paperwork.

He only pays to 21 IF she finishes HS (not a GED, but a diploma) and goes onto college (CC or university). The minute she drops out, it stops.

I think they treat it like HS, summers off.

It's a bit different for me because DH and I do not co-mingle our finances. So I'm not really affected by this.

However, I do have to say, I'm a bit impressed with DHs kid. She's got out of school Wednesday, was asked to work that evening since someone called in sick. Worked yesterday for a few hours and works the next three days.

Historically, she was all about sleeping in and being lazy in the summer. She told her new manager that she wants as many hours as possible and to please call her if they need someone.

I don't particularly agree with this either, but it's the law in my state.

I worked my way through college, my parents paid 0 dollars for my education. Or my sister's educations.

Apples....I'm inviting you over for drinks tonight. It sounds like you've had a rough morning and need to unload your troubles. Smile
