Am I the only one that doesn't get this?

My BF has had his two boys on his insurance through his employer since they were born. "Crazy" told us she put them on medical assistance which we thought was weird because there is no purpose for that. When they did child support she didn't have them on it so she just recently did it. My BF went to the welfare office because it just didn't seem right to have them on both - well apparently its perfectly OK :O so now Im totally confused. They told him that since she has 50% custody, she can have them on medical assistance. Does anyone else think this is stupid?

She does get food stamps, which in itself I find confusing. She lives at home, works 2 days a week, gets $700/mo in support and both her parents have money coming in….yet she qualifies for all this stuff. Blows my mind. She was even reported because she was selling some of her food stamps to her friend yet nothing came of it.

OAN - My BF went in to file modification for support because we know shes been working more then her 2 days and when he was in there, the supervisor who did the paperwork the first time for support saw him and really rolled her eyes at him!!!

Sound screwed up and could effect his support agreement. My BM tried that to get coverage for herself next thing I know I'm being called down to friend of the court to explain. Here in mich. If the children are on ANY government assistance the FOC is supoosed to know about it. I believe due to the divorce and custody agreement entered by the court.

Affect his support how tho? Right now they hold her at being responsible for like 26% of the amount it costs for insurance and thats deducted from his support so does that mean his support could go higher and that deduction could be gone?

So glad everyone blames the RICH for the state of this country. Couldn't possibly be that all these lazy ass, entitled idiots scam the system at every turn.

My DH's exW did the same thing, it could come back to bite him because if she isn't remarried and received temporary emergency funds, the state usually goes back to the BD who is paying child support. I live in TX and the state will get their money back one way or another. Good thing in our situation, they'd go after her current husband (which she does not live with any longer), not my DH.

I think it's totally screwed up and I do get medicaid for my kids I can't afford anything let alone medical coverage but if my ex or I could either have real insurance I'd be on it in a heartbeat you get treated way better, better doctora better treatment you can usually see a dentist (adults can but only to yank a tooth). I'd see it as fraud and stealing.
I'd be damn sure she doesn't get reimbursement from your DH on medical it's free! You can get food stamps without medical if there's already medical but see this way she gets medical coverage too because she has kids.
