Feeling a little bit evil today....

WifeVersion2.0's picture

DH received papers in the mail today from the CS office. I'm not sure what's in them yet (he still uses his parents address for the CS department) but I can only assume they are the papers to begin the CS modification process!

DH was laid off a year ago and despite several interviews has not yet found a new job. Sad He held off on requesting a CS modification because he kept thinking it wouldn't be too long before he found another job and didn't want to have to turn around and change it again. He finally sent the paperwork in last month.

I'm honestly having a hard time not smiling at the mental picture of BM flipping out when she realizes that her sole source of income is about to drop dramatically.....kind of like my DH's income did when he was laid off! She has continued to get the full CS amount which is equal to 50% of what my DH is now bringing home. In addition we still bought some shoes and clothes for the kids for back to school. While he has been actively looking for employment she has chosen to be a single SAHM of 3 kids living off of CS and govt. assistance.

I'm seriously hoping she gets a good dose of Karma. }:)

Yeah, I've been following your story! Smile It's a good one! Wonder how she'll react when she finds out!

On the flip side, I get to go to court on Monday to increase the CS that my oldest son's father pays to me. I agreed on a rediculously low amount 12 years ago just to get the divorce finalized. He hasn't paid for several years until the CS office finally caught up with him. He didn't show for our standard review while I wasted a day off to attend. He said he would be available by phone, CS office agreed to let him phone it in even though they usually don't do that and then he chose not to answer. So, it's back to court we go and now instead of us coming to an agreement I'm just going to let the judge hammer him for what he owes. Smile

So, if I can get an increase on my side and decrease what DH pays out until he finally gets a job....we might actually be able to keep our heads above water a little bit longer!

I'm so glad for you that your DH turned in the papers. My DH was out of work last year and didn't file for reduction for the same reason.

He was out of work for almost a YEAR. We sure could have used a reduction in ANY bill!

Good luck on your DH finding work too, it's getting better but WAY TOO SLOWLY.

I know SD8s BM is probably on cloud 9 right now. I got a letter Friday saying we weren't getting child support through CSSD because there is already an existing court order. Well, the existing court order was simply that DH had emergency interim custody when she fled town a few years ago, and recently he won full legal and primary physical custody of SD8. Since we got that, we will have to go back to court to establish child support. BM has 4 younger kids, and her husband is in jail. SD8 is her oldest child, which means the child support determination will not count any of the younger sibs.

She may have postponed it, but in the end, she's going to see her PFD garnished and I'm going to laugh all the way to the bank. Greedy troll.

After being served with paperwork from CSSD, she knows darn well she owes the child support. What a jerk!
