Merry Christmas StepTalkers!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

DD (almost 3) opened all of her presents this morning and DH and I had a relaxing morning while she played. SS12 texted both DH and I first thing this morning saying "Merry Christmas!!!! Send me pics of DD opening her presents! Can't wait to see you all tomorrow!!!" which made my SM heart happy. BM's parents are dropping SS off here tomorrow afternoon on their way back home from BMs. I hope we have a calm, pleasant, no BM drama week with SS.

Wishing everyone happy holidays and well wishes as we enter 2025!

I can't believe DD is almost 3! Good to hear that SS initiated contact and is looking forward to his visit. I think is a testament to how well you and DH have handled such a difficult situation. I hope you have a great visit with him.

I rarely log in so dont comment much but read daily and have for over a decade. I also don't post as never had to live with my partners kid/s (after 15 years I still have own place 100m up the street!) But you are one of the posters that I most feel bad for. Your BM is a complete arse. And I love that despite the arsery SS still loves you guys and esp his little sister. That's so fantastic. I truly believe - from what you have posted - that there will come a time where you guys are the ones he will have closest relationship with. And you deserve that. Here's to that happening soon! Can't wait to read about karma for this BM.

You guys have the patience of a saint!  Hopefully SS will overcome the BM's severe case of control freak.

DD is almost 3 wow!  My DGD is 3.5 and she's bursting with energy!

Thank you, everyone! Yes, DD is almost 3. I seriously don't know where the last 3 years have gone. She is a bright, fun, well-rounded toddler who I swear is smarter and more sociable that anyone in this household. She loves SS and SS loves her immensely; I am so thankful for their bond despite the 10 year age gap.

I am hoping you all are right and SS will overcome the PAS/GUHCBM childhood he has been raised in with BM and GF and will want a permanent relationship with us into adulthood. I like to think our efforts have been successful despite the minimal time we have him, but only time will tell. I try to minimize expectations to prevent from getting burned in the end. I have had high hopes too often dashed due to a confused/anxious SS and a GUHCBM and GF. BM has still been pulling shenanigans whenever possible (requesting 4 changes to the next 3 months of our CO'd visitation within the last 6 weeks - still prioritizing sports over DH) but DH has done a good job managing her, while ensuring he maintains his CO'd time with SS. End of May 2025 will mark 5 years until he ages out of the court order and CS (but whose counting?)

Merry belated Christmas. I meant to post yesterday but I was feeling lazy by the time I was on line. I hope everyone had the best holiday they could have. I know for some that's not too great of a day but hey, it's over now!!

Ours was nice. Calm, peaceful, etc. We did Christmas Eve at SS's w/ his fiance & her family. They were in from out of town and w/ the wedding coming up in Oct 2025, it was a good way to get to know them. We liked them, it wasn't uncomfy like I'd worried it might be. I say bring on the wedding!!!

We did Christmas morning here. My two & wives, my brother, the two of us. WE do breakfast so we were eating by 10am. We put into a place a SEcret Santa last year and it went well so we did it again this year. I like it because it's a struggle to figure out what they all wany or need. Secret Santa on Elfster lets us make a wish list so we all got things we needed/wanted. I got a new Salad Shooter, I am giddy!!

Everyone was off to their next stop by noon and we kicked back and watched football. Well, I watched, the Mr nd Rudy napped.

Happy day after, I hope everyone can get a chance to recover fro step enduced nonsense and get their happy back!
