Yep.. Father's day was this past Sunday.  Of course, I was an idiot and thought it was the weekend BEFORE.. so made plans to go see my dad and take him his gift last week.. which turned out to be a good thing because a very dear friend of ours passed away that day.. and his funeral was this past weekend.. so it was just as well that we had taken care of the visit the week before. (its about 4 hour drive each way).

But.. this Sunday rolls around and no first thing wishing of father's day from his daughters.. (who are not estranged by the way).. About 10... I quietly text his younger daughter and ask if she remembered.. she had not!... lol.  So... she did end up texting him and doing a nice post of pictures wishing him a happy father's day.  OSD also sent him a text a bit later too.. I'm fairly certain my text prompted it.  BUT.. I have a very nice and loving relationship with my YSD. so she didn't see it as a "nagging text" or negative.. just a bump to remind her and save her bacon for not remembering.  again.. the same message could have been recieved differently in a different dynamic.

OSD had less reason to be forgetful since she actually is a mother to two little boys.. so would have had to do somethign for her husband.. but she is definitely the more self absorbed one.

YsD had a lot going on with her DH traveling and she was dog sitting two extra dogs on top of her own this past weekend.

In other news.. my SIL has been hospitalized with very late stage liver disease... the woman with the chickens if others recall that story.  Apparently you cannot drink vodka 24/7 and come out unscathed.. who knew.?
