Well, SD18 got arrested
Dh got the call from BM yesterday. Evidently Sd was driving somewhere far away with friends, was speeding and got pulled over and was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substance penalty group 2, and drug paraphernalia.
She was booked, took a mugshot, and spent the night in jail until BM found someone to pay the percentage of the bond.
BM told dh that sd has been blowing off her college courses, and whenever bm asks about her grades she is told "its none of your business ". Sd is on financial aid, and we arent sure how this arrest/future court ruling will impact that, or her getting into her chosen field in the healthcare profession.
Sd moved away from us to live with BM almost 2 years ago, because BM always was the friend parent and let sd run all over. Now here we are.
I am staying out of it. Disengagement continueth!

Geeze
That sux. When Toxic Feral was 17 plus, she was caught stealing from JC Pennys. Her second time. They didnt press charges because she had money in her wallet. But she did get fined $250, which DH paid. So that she would watch his elder mother during his "turn".
I called her winona for a while.
I hate that these crappy SD's with loads of entitlement (you owe me!!! I am your CHILD!!!!) can get away with all this and more.
Yup. Disengagment is not just for dinner anymore.
Of course, they never leave after 18. They just get into bigger and more expensive trouble.
I remember the Winona saga!
I remember the Winona saga! What a pain that had to have been for you guys!
Possession of a controlled substance
Is a felony. But who needs a future?
For an 18 year old girl, they
For an 18 year old girl, they will probably drop that to a youthful offender charge or a misdemeanor. Still stupid, though.
With a good lawyer
She will get it dismissed if no more problems in 6 months. everyone in car will claim drugs not theirs.
OP is in Texas, so that's
OP is in Texas, so that's unlikely. She will lose all of her financial aid even if the charges are reduced. ANY drug related offenses make one ineligible.
