My skids go to my neighbor's house after school on BM's days......
Mondays, Wednesdays, and every other Friday. All the other days they come here. (The skids are both girls, one is 10 and the other is almost 12.) I have very wonderful neighbors, their kids are the same ages as my skids, and our backyards have no fencing, so it's like one BIG backyard. All the kids just play wherever they want, our yard, their yard, whatever..... Well, one day the neighbors put up a trampoline, and we all went over there to take a look at it (the kids were very excited, me... not so much). While we were there, we discussed the rules with the neighbors and came to a very amicable agreement. The rules are: 1.)If you want to go jump on the trampoline, you have to come inside and tell us. 2.) No more than 3 at a time. If any of these rules are broken, you will be grounded from the trampoline for two weeks. All the kids "bobble-head" their understanding of the rules. Okay, so the very next day after homework is done, my skids tell me they're going outside to play with the neighbors. Okay, I say. A few minutes later I stroll outside taking some garbage out, and what do I see? FIVE kids on the trampoline. I call my skids over, bring them inside, sit them down at the table and ask them about the rules. They repeat the rules to me, and I then ground them for two weeks off the trampoline. I then call the neighbors and tell them that my skids are grounded for two weeks from the trampoline. No problems......yet. A few days go by and my neighbor comes over on a day when the skids are due at their house after school because it is BM's day, and my neighbor proceeds to tell me that BM told him that the skids are allowed on the trampoline on HER days, that she doesn't agree with the punishment or the rules. My wonderful neighbor says to her: "No way. They are grounded for two weeks, period." I LOVE my neighbors! Needless to say, DH receives text the same day saying that our rules are "unfair", and that I'm just "mean". Yea, I'm just mean, that's exactly right! You got it! But who do you think will be rushing to the hospital with your child if she gets hurt on that thing, REGARDLESS of whose effing day it is??? That's right, mean ole' ME!

LOVE your neighbors. Good for them for standing up to her. And - you're not mean, you're responsible and a parent.
That next weekend BM went out
That next weekend BM went out and bought a trampoline. I'm not kidding, she really did. She bought a used one, the netting/fencing is all ripped up, and when the skids have friends over there, they ALL jump on the trampoline. She is the worst "Disney Mom" I have ever seen.

Oh dear shame on you for worrying about the skids safety, how could you put their well being before fun, your neighbours are cool, I bet bm did'nt like that ha ha, this is just another case of a bm putting her energy into hurting sm instead of worrying about her kids. Just keep on doing what you are doing
