Lately I have, for the most part, been disengaged. After a grueling year of DH trying to modify the custody (to get SD full time) and CS agreement.

After DH and BM completed mediation, I removed myself (It was a hellish year and I was done dealing with it). I thought "DH, you can handle finishing this up..ie, getting the lawyers to draft the agreed-to modification and get it approved by a Judge".

So, despite my desire to remain disengaged, I asked him last night if he got a copy of the signed amendment. He said he did, a few weeks ago and dug it out to show it to me.

In less then one minute, I spot a mistake.

In the mediation, DH and BM agreed that DH would pay BM $XX for child support and that DH would pay all "Extra Expenses".

The document has it backward. Although it does state that DH will pay $XX for CS, it reflects BM paying all extra expenses.

Ugh. DH's high priced lawyer drafted this and BM's high priced lawyer reviewed this.

I suggested to DH that he contact his lawyer and ask for it to be fixed (at their cost as it was a mistake made by the lawyers in drafting and reviewing).

DH said, No, I'm not doing that. He said that "I e-mailed "lawyer" three times to pay her latest invoice from my credit card that they had on file and she charged me for all three emails".

DH is still, in reality, going to pay all the extra expenses...he has been for SD's whole life. But he's refusing to take the time and effort to get the modification fixed. Needless to say, BM is dumber than a sack of hammers and likely didn't read the amendment. Its in BM's interest to get it fixed..let her handle it.
