Hunger, lies and hate
Last night my ss15 ate more then half of the dinner I had in the crock pot, leaving the rest for 5 of us to share. I didn't get to eat anything after work. I worked hard to make a good dinner and was looking forward to it all afternoon at work, and then ranted at ss15. He denied eating that much, blamed my boys for eating it (lie) and then left the house for a walk (a big tip to me he's lying b/c he always runs when he lies). I went upstairs hungry and sulked. Later DH came upstairs with a huge bowl of icecream and my tummy was growling and I asked why he didn't dish me up some like he always does. He said he took it all but I could share but he'd put his special discusting stuff on it so I said no. I went downstairs to check on the doors and there sat ss15 with a huge bowl also and after eating most of our supper and then a huge bowl of icecream and dh had lied that it was gone, I blew it. I was so angry. Dh gave ss15 icecream after he clearly knew I had not eaten and ss15 had eaten more then 3 people's worth of dinner. Sometimes ss15 just irratates me so much I WIIIISH he'd just freakin move back to bm and leave us alone. I hated him last night. But I was angrier at dh for lying to me. I hate how he lies for his kids.

this just made my blood
this just made my blood pressure rise. >:( i had so many food issues with sd19 when she lived here, i wanted to just refuse to feed her at all!
she would complain that she was starving, make herself a huge bowl/plate of whatever i made, take 2 bites and dump the rest in the garbage. she was 12 and older when she was doing this. same thing with drinks. pour a huge glass of something, take 2 sips, dump it. if i bought popsicles, she had them gone in 1 day, not even joking. she would try to cook stuff, burn my cooking utensils, leave a big mess and waste what she made. i shudder to think of how much of my hard earned money that little bitch wasted. i started making her plate for her on a toddler plate. fdh threatened to feed her a spoonful at a time since no matter how little she had, it was always too much.
as for dh and ss, i would only make food for you and your kids for a while, and make sure that you and yours eat it before they have a chance to get near it. see how they like it. dh is just encouraging this rude, piggish behavior by allowing it, and rewarding the little buttwipe with finishing off ice cream. i'm so pissed for you.
I had this problem with DH's
I had this problem with DH's son when he was that age. I literally had to dish up fair amounts for everyone so that everyone ate. Pretty sad that he could eat 3 times what DH could.
It was a huge issue for me, we couldn't trust a 15 yr old to have manners enough to get a small plate of dinner, then go back for seconds after everyone else had theirs...nope I had to dish up plates for 5 people just to make sure my DH had some.
Ok I am NOT going to condone
Ok I am NOT going to condone lying for either one of them and I would be LIVID if it was me. I have to ask is this an ongoing thing? I am asking because I have a almost 15 yo BS who eats ALL DAY EVERYDAY! He is a growing boy, something about teenage boys and food. I hear it from everyone. Again I know you are pissed and I would be to, but maybe it is time to start making more food for diner. It took me a while to figure this out. Now I just make enough knowing he will want seconds and sometime 3rds.
My dh just called and asked
My dh just called and asked if I'd eaten breakfast yet (it's my day off so I slept in late) and that he's taking me out b/c of last night!!!! So now off to the shower, I've got to get ready; it's rare we have a "date breakfast"!! Tonight I do not cook in crock pot. SS15 starts football camp in a week and it's from 3-7pm so no more eating dinner early. Prob solved for now! Also maybe cooking more will help, especially of the foods I KNOW ss15 loves. At least he eats it and doesn't throw it away after 3 bites. I have that anyways :0
OK so i realize you made a
OK so i realize you made a meal for everyone and were looking forward to it, but after your SS eating more than his portion and there not being enough for everyone why did you not get yourself something else to eat? I would have gone out and picked up my SS's favourite take out and ate it right in front of him!....no way in hell would I be going to bed hungry in my own house!
I have these issues with
I have these issues with SD15. One time I put the crock pot in my bedroom and cooked dinner in there. I had no choice. Anytime I make anything with potatoes she eats all the potatoes when I am not looking. There was many nights where I got no dinner or very little so everyone else could eat and I make more than enough food.
Sometimes I spoon out most of the potatoes into a tupperware and hide them, give her her dinner and wait for her to go away then put them back in the crock pot. It sounds crazy but if I don't do that then no one gets any and DH usually gets home late and eats when the kids are in bed.
Thats shitty that you got nothing and no ice cream. I would have flipped too!! I would have dumped the bowl of ice cream on SS's head!!
SD15 eats us out of house and
SD15 eats us out of house and home, I cook, she takes a few bites and wastes it. ANY meat I make she complains it's fatty and says she's a vegetarian that only likes cheeseburgers......... :? And Daddy makes her cheeseburgers atleast 2x in 1 week. I make sure to tell him I don't want it and he makes 2 different meats. I have actually stopped doing prettty much everything when she is there. No cooking, cleaning etc.
She eats all the little kids snacks and literally drinks a 12pack of pop in 1 1/2 days, and leaves her plate, cans, straws and wrappers all over. I refuse to clean up after anyone in that house besides my daughter and I make her clean up after herself! This just add's to the list of reasons I hate when she's there and makes me not like her even more
I so don't want to go through
I so don't want to go through that. Both DH's kids SS(5) and SD(7) have a huge appetite for their ages already. They can eat two boxes of cereal in two days on the weekends pretty much by themselves.
I've flat out told DH no more cereal on the weekends for the kids. I usually feed them cereal throughout the week because I'm on a time schedule on the week days and don't have time to make pancakes or french toast.
I swear, sometimes they keep eating just because it's there. It's like taking a road trip when they know that there's a bottle of water in the car. We have to ration it out to them because they'll slam the whole thing within 5 or 10 minutes, whine about being so thirsty afterwards, and need to pee overy 5 minutes.
I would be extremely mad if I were you too. I understand that growing kids consume a lot of food, but what about thinking about the other people in the household first. Your SS apprently does not care if you eat as long as he can stuff his face to his hearts content.
Quite frankly, I just wouldn't cook for him one night. When he asks why tell him that if he can't be considerate and think of you before he stuffs his face then why should you cook a dinner that you're not even going to be able to eat and then go to bed hungry. I bet you that would drive the point home for him.
unhappy, I might just do that
unhappy, I might just do that tonight. I have hamburgers planned and maybe I will make just enough for the rest of us. When he saunters into the kitchen all sleepy eyed like he always does b/c he always takes naps just as I am starting dinner, I will say in a sweet voice, well last night you ate enough for 2 nights. Knowing him he'll probably just go back to bed and then when all of the rest of us are in bed he'll get up and make something for himself. He does that almost nightly anyways, eats after dark. My bs does that too. WHY do kids eat at night?
