O/T OMG I know a freaking bank robber!

:jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop:

My dh used to work at this company with this one guy and he even went on a business trip with him. When I picked them up at the air port he seemed like a nice guy. Dh and him became buddies somewhat but never out side of work thank GOD!

Then in 2009 there were a rush of bank robberies but of course we didn't know who it was he wasn't caught. Then another in 2010 then again in 2011.

I just found out on the news that they caught him and announced his name it was HIM! :jawdrop:

I have never been around anyone that did something like that. He didn't look like he would do something like that, he seems like a normal person. I am just shocked I guess you could say.

I wonder what was going on with him for him to do that?

They found all the money in a self storage building and all the things he used in the crimes in his house.

I have a very overactive imagination and I have often wondered....

With all the bad people in the world, I wonder if I have actually ever stood shoulder to shoulder with someone at the grocery store, bank or shopping mall that has murdered someone. The scary conclusion I come to is ... bet I have!

Totally O/T too, but did you ever wonder how many ramdom pictures you are in, where someone you don't even know was taking a picture of a building, another person, etc and you happen to be in the background? Wierd to think that your picture is in some complete strangers photo album.

Yep, I think waaaayyyy too much.

I think about the picture thing ALL Of the time, especially since I saw my scrawney little 16 year old body in my cheerleading uniform with my face blurred out show up on Dateline. Crazy stuff!

Wow. With the way things are going with the job market and everything, it actually doesn't surprise me. I think it'll get worse before it gets better. But thats just my opinion Smile

BM doesn't look like she would try to kill someone and she doesn't have the "crazy person" look about her, but she definitely is crazy!!!

Wink

Isn't it strange when you find something like that out? One of the girls I knew in highschool is in prison for life for hiring someone to kill her BF back in 1997. The whole story was on Dateline not too long ago. It was weird seeing all of these pictures of her from highschool, one of the "blurred out" faces in a picture was me. Strange and surreal.

AND THEN... my old boss (whom I hated) is now in prison probably for life, for holding his girlfriend hostage for 12 hours and beating her within inches of her life. He is going to trail for Kidnapping, false imprisonment, assualt, battery and attempted murder. She was in REALLY bad shape. Crazy, I always used to think "this guy has anger issues, he is gonna ball up and punch me one of these days". Huh... boy did I hit that nail on the head!!

I know. I cheered with the girls best friend. She knew NOTHING about the plot to kill the boyfriend. You can look up the story online it is pretty interesting. And weird because I know most of the people in the report. Her name is Amy . She and her other friend Jennifer hired some guy to kill Amy's (who was prego at the time, I remember seeing her at church right after her BF was killed, feeling bad for her because the father of her unborn baby was murdered. Took them 7 years to find out SHE did it and convict her) bf. Jennifer later had 2 kids with a friend of mine. See that guy ALL of the time. My daughter plays against his daughter in Little League. Sad, all I can think when I see this little girl is "your MOM is in PRISON for conspiracy to murder!".

My first DH was friends with a guy in high school ( I knew him too ) who was really nice, quiet, got along with everyone, super family, active in sports, community, etc.

He was caught and convicted of 3 armed bank robberies within 2 years of them graduating high school. It was one of those "I would have NEVER thought THAT of HIM!" situations. The one robbery he committed -- actually in our small town, was the first one to occur in over 100 years.

He had no real reason for doing it, per the reports of his trial.

In fact, the guy was so distraught over what he did, and then getting caught and having his name and his family's name splashed all over the newspapers (we grew up in a really small town, where every knew everyone for at least 3 generations back), he ended up hanging himself in his cell.

I guess for every person who does something like this, there's someone who "knows them"

Oh, and one other crazy story.

My BFF of 40 years got divorced about 5 years ago. Her ex started dating immediately, and was going out with this woman who my BFF said she didn't feel comfortable having their daughter around, but had no REAL reason -- just a gut instinct on her part -- so just kept her mouth shut and eyes open.

Her Ex told her one day he and his girlfriend were thinking about "moving in together" but probably not until she got all the paperwork around to actually file for divorce from her current husband (getting hinkier by the minute, isn't it??).

A month later, my BFF's Ex's girlfriend made the front page for soliciting an undercover cop to put a hit on her (girlfriend's) soon to be ex-husband so she wouldn't have to pay for a lawyer. She apparently offered him $200 and a case of beer.

Needless to say, when my BFF heard about this -- via the local paper, not her Ex husband, she was OUT OF HER MIND!!

I remember once a lady I used to work with got busted in our (very small) town for embezzling a crap load of money from my former work.

I felt guilty for a while because I had mentioned TO HER that I thought it was odd that they didn't have the company checks under better security (they were in a vault but the vault was unlocked all day long). She told me to not worry about it. That there was always someone in sight of the vault door.

I found out, though, that she started her embezzling YEARS before I worked there so I didn't give her the idea, at least!

I went to school with a woman who was my ex boyfriends ex wife, that embezzled from the local POLICE station! :jawdrop:

yep I read it in the paper after we broke up and then I saw him at a store and he has all his kid with him. I know she went to jail so I figured he got custody.

Then a couple of years later i read in the paper that ANOTHER girl I went to school with and was in choir with her too had done the same thing in a neighboring town! We all knew each other.

So weird to know people like that. To know that you know them and very well at that.

Baffles me why the knuckleheads hold onto the evidence. Duh.

I am going to put this up here and then probably will have to remove it in case I am recognized, but:

SD18's junior year boyfriend, who she went to prom with, got caught robbing a bank! I found about it on the news, SD18 never bothered to give that little tidbit to DH. The funny thing was, she and boyfriend broke up before the robbery but SD18 was lying to DH and telling him they were still dating. So I showed DH the guy's picture on the news site and Dh confronted SD18. Only thing that came of it is DH found out SD18 was lying to him. I think DH was just relieved SD18 wasn't dating the guy at the time it happened.

When I was 6 years old I was best friends with this younger girl who lived across the street from me. She was 4 or 5 i think but I loved her. She would come over to play and went to the movies with our family.

After about a year all of a sudden she dropped off the face of the earth....her mom and stepdad lived in the house but she wasn't there. Her mom told me she moved to Cal with her dad.

Her name was Ursula Sunshine Assaid.....her stepfather tortured her and murdered her a d through her body in a garbage in the pond near our home.

The creepiest thing is....even as a child I was afraid of her step dad....a lot of you are too young to reme, ber playing " jarts" it's a game you play in the yard throwing these arrowns in the ground and making it within a plastic circle.....he wouldn't use arrows, but huge kitchen knives.

That my first and only ( I hope) dealing with a criminal.....BTW He was murdered in prison after serving almost 20 years....the mother was released after 10 and had a baby in prison....poor sweet Ursula....she really suffered when the end came:(

I forgot about this one: My cousin whom i had only seen few times as my mom had didn't like him and there was something about him that she just didn't like. She was proven right as he attempted to kill a girl he picked up at a gas station. The girl came in to ask for directions and he insisted he knew where it was and for her to follow him. She did and he raped her and beat her top near death and left her there to die. They found him thankfully b/c she survived and she lead them to him. He is still in prison.
it happened in a little town near where we are now. This is a town where I grew up for the most part.

The facility should conduct a random check up with every client. This really is to prevent such incident. This is what edmonton self storage do, when I stayed there for a couple of months. Storage companies should avoid this because this will decrease their popularity.
