I just gave the skids fruit. OH NO!

purpledaisies's picture

When dh and I started dating I gave the skids fresh fruit for breakfast not thinking much about it. I mean fruit is good right? WRONG according to bm that is! She said I should have given them a donut. Really?

Well I just gave them apples for breakfast this morning. They asked for them so I gave them. Wonder what she will say?? LOL }:)

The first time we gave SS honeydew DH mentioned he liked it to BM. Her horrified response was "EW! We don't eat that stuff here!" Then she called CPS because we refused to feed SS "his favorite foods". Yes, I'm sure SS (at one year old) wants the huge can of Chef-Boy-R-D ravioli you insist on sending with him instead of fresh fruit for breakfast . . .

Fresh fruit is the devils nectar - Who knew?

Whomever came up w/the brilliant idea of putting ravioles in a CAN w/all those preservatives and sodium and such should be shot!

I have lived back in the US over 15 yrs now...I lived in a country that ALL our food bought was fresh-you went to the stores daily-I say stores because you had your meat stored, your produce stands, bakery, etc...it's the land of beef and FRESH pasta everywhere.

The first time I saw ravioles in a can I flipped-my exh threw a tantrum that lasted days LOL. Becamse our biggest pet peeve. I have not ever once fed my kids that on princicple! lol

They go home tonight. Interesting but I don't have any energy drink LOL.

My husband's ex-wife refers to me as a "health nut". What makes it so funny is that it is absolutely not true. I'm sitting at the computer right now with a bowl of ramen and a diet coke. And I just made chocolate chip cookies for the kids to eat when they get home from school.

I guess to her, a "health nut" is someone who doesn't feed the kids McDonald's and Taco Bell every night.

I think I would fall over if my DS asked for something other than fruit. Heck just this morning as I was getting is bag ready for daycare, he proceeded to remind me to pack him an orange AND apples. He gets balanced food at daycare but always wants to bring his own.
He eats stuff that DH & I won't even touch!

My dh records everything because of bm's random fits of crazy. Many a conversation is about how we are abuseing ss9 with veggies. Her telling him if I give him squash to shove it all in his mouth chew it and spit it back out. Her telling him that if we dont give him ice cream before dinner he is to fall on the ground crying. On the off days she actually calls when he is here she sqeals her baby voice and always asks if I have feed him yet. Usually his answer is "she is cooking ......" and whatever it is her answer is "eewee gross tell her to make you real food"..... Sorry our staples here arent pop tarts and nuggets....

Myliverules if bm ever did that dh would go off on her and his kids. He would tell them that this is our house and what goes on here is none of her business and if she feels that we aren't feeding them what she wants us to feed them she can call DHS! I promise you that here if dhs is called just b/c someone thinks that the food is gross they will laugh at them!

Plus sometimes you just need to set your foot down and tell bm that that is none of her business and the kid if they think they have the need to call their mom and tell them everything that goes on./ My eh has taken their phones and has no problem doing it again if that was happening.

BM also has a habit of going to fast food places and restaurants often. [I wonder how she has the money??] This caused a lot of problems with the skids being very picky. Well, of course if you are used to picking what you want to eat and BM doesn't mind if you have the same thing every. single. day.

I also found it amusing that BM told SD that she was not allowed to drink cappuccinos but had NO problem whatsoever with SD drinking 3 energy drinks every day! I asked SD why BM didn't want her to have the cappuccinos and SD said because they had too much sugar and caffeine in them :jawdrop: I guess energy drinks are full of elixir and fountain of youth juice!

YEP Skylark!! Our BM did this, my bf said she would always come home w/fast food meals and never cooked. The girl is extremely picky! I have fits about it a lot.

You know though-my youngest is a very picky eater even though I cook 90pct of our meals, and variety. I still demand he tries things-he has his favorites but now at 9 is starting to get much better. You keep working at it until as they get older they start eating more variety. I go on cooking sprees where I like to try all these new recipes and use my kids as guinea pigs Smile

They now will eat all kinds of things, including Thai, sushi, calamari, stuff like that.
How old is the SD again? Energy drinks arent' good. My 11yr old has a "thing" for them -probably because they are not allowed...he's had half a can here and there on rare ocassions of the Monster (blue w/lowest sugar). But it's very rare. He feels 'cool' when he does lol.

Oh Yeah sugar...gosh...don't want to start on that rant. THe girls has almost every tooth w/cavities worked on...she eats sugar like crazy, from her mom, grandparents, now that I jump on her dads case he tries...but at my house, no way lady.
Drink soda? Nope, water or milk...or maybe sometimes a watered down juice.
