Sad how much a BM wants to get rid of her kids!
The BM is really eager to ditch the SDs onto us. Originally wanted to do it with no legal paperwork (currently she has full custody and we have them stay EOW and she wants that reversed). She reckoned that it has all changed from when she did a custody thing in 2005 and now no paperwork needed doing. I spent the afternoon ringing the relevant organisations and found out what needed to happen ie lawyer filing a variation of parenting order and wrote down what she needed to do. I fully expected her to argue and not agree to it because it will mean she wont be able to claim the govt benefit for families anymore which she reckons she needs to live on - but - surprise surprise she meekly told my husband "yep no problem, can I keep the piece of paper!" She is desperate to ditch them probably cause she has a new boyfriend on the scene!! It will be a good thing cause the girls are really unhappy at BMs as they keep telling us.

Very sad
I battle with the resentment of BM's abandonment of skids every day. As much as I ADORE my skids, I hate the fact that this thing takes no responsibility for the raising of the children she bore. I agree, I am sure that yur SDs will be better off with u....just make sure it is what YOU want....it is an overwhelming and exhaustive job that takes so much committment on yur part, 24/7 is so much different than EOW....and make her pay child support!!!!.....I wish u all the best, and applaud yur committment to yur SDs

Yeah I think it is going to be a challange.
Currently I am a stay at home mum to our 8month old son so when the girls come to live with us I will be the one getting them up for school. DH finishes work at 2.30pm so he will be home in the afternoons. It was always a possiblility that BM would abandon the SDs as she did with her older two children so is not completely unexpected. Also when we got married I included (as a surprise for DH) a vow that the girls would always be welcome in our home and life which I stand by. I wonder though if DH realises the ramifications of the change!
