When did you think “I’ve had enough”?

TheAccidentalSM's picture

I guess this has been a gradual process over the last 3 years but I thought the final nail in coffin of caring about him and his future was when YSS19 decided to act like a idiot on our snowboarding holiday and finally went home half way through the week.

Now have until November until he leaves. I’m not certain that we’ll make it that far.

Chief Priest of the God of Rodents to find a new house of worship

After the fiasco of the snowboarding trip (YSS19 sulked like a 5 year old from the get go, packed his bags, went home after 3 days and let us come home to the filthy house with food offerings to the god of rodents in nearly every room  ), I spiralled into depression once DH and I finished the holiday. I never planned on having any kids and thought that by waiting until all the skids were over 16 to live with my DH I’d avoided having them living with me full time.

To a great SM

Years ago my BFF moved half way across the world. There she met a guy, fell in love, got married and had a lovely baby boy.

Sadly, while her little boy was still a toddler she was diagnosed with an untreatable agressive cancer. Shortly after her diagnosis she passed away.

Since then the guy met a new woman. She had kids from a previous relationship so together they created a blended family. The new SM is amazing. All my BFF's family and friends love her. She has taken on the job of raising this little boy with her own with grace and humour.

Update from the pistes part 3 (or when fate bites you in the ass)

Have you ever seen a comedy with this sketch? One of the characters decides to make a grand exit by storming out and then has to crawl back because they've forgotten their keys or a wallet. That was us yesterday.

Last afternoon after DH dropped YSS at the bus station we went back out on the slopes. So much fun! The sun was shining and the snow was good. If you haven't tried skiing/boarding and get the chance - Go for it!

Update from the pistes

YSS has booked a flight home and is currently on his way to the bus station with DH. The little twit is trying to show us that he's all grown up and can control his life.

Well the jokes on him. I get 3 days holiday without his moaning. He has completely cut off his nose to spite his face.

I currently happily sitting in the sun with a large hot chocolate while browsing ST. Lovely.

Have a good and hopefully skid free day one and all.

Fun in the snow

Rutherford may want to read this as a cautionary tale. My YSS19 has never been as much of a brat as her SD but can still be a pain. Holidays can have skids lapsing into bed habits.

So Friday I meet DH and YSS after work at the train station to get a train to go snowboarding. Straight away YSS is coping an attitude like "I don't want to come" and "I'm too cool to be seen with the two of you". Argh! So I told DH to fix it. Calm descends and we get on the train.

We eventually arrive at the resort. Mr 'I don't want to be here' is back.

YSS and jobs and being responsible

YSS19 lost his last job. I had a blog about it in February. Basically, he doesn't like the boring stuff and doesn't concentrate. We told him to take a notebook and make notes on all the processes he's taught but of course that doesn't happen. (And seriously, I make ever new starter in my team do this so its reasonable)

DH has had a big sit down with him to explain that this is completely unacceptable and that he needs to find and stick with a new job. YSS19 promised to change his ways.

OT - work sucks

Happy weekend one and all. Hope everyone is fully disengaged and having fun.

This may be a little long and ranty. Work is beyond awful.

I've spent the last 6 months trying to make my new director happy. Which is impossible but I tried for 60/80 hours a week.

More fool me. We had a regular catch up scheduled on Friday. He started by given another 5 projects to work on. I presented a completed project to reorganise the structure of the entire £2bn division which he says and I quote "was excellent". OK so far same shit different day.

Date day - Good or bad? What do you guess?

Well yesterday DH had planned a fun date for the two of us. Lunch at an amazing restaurant is normally uber expensive but does a set Sunday lunch that is really great value.

We started with prosecco. The food was brilliant. The bottle of bordeaux divine.

We were having a great time and had just gotten to coffee and petit fours when his phone started vibrating. He ignored it but it kept going and going so finally checked to see who it was.

YSS was calling to say that he'd had an epileptic fit on the bus into town and had come to surrounded by paramedics.
