Every day...
Every single day.
*~So sayeth Nymh~*
I actually ask him
exactly that, at least once a week. No, wait -- I'm a little stronger in my language than "bloody" and "lady!"
LOL
I know. I have to refrain though because my b/f hates it and knows he has messed up big time. He gets a bit sensitive about it sometimes. LOL!

My DH was 16, young dumb and full of- yeah that too but self medicating expirementing teen??? I still wonder where he got such good stuff though!
There is no reaon where logic does not exist
You know...
I do say that to hubby, not because she is an ex but because she is a bitch and an idiot!! He can't stand her and I don't wonder why he went out with her, as you never really know someone til you live with them, but I do wonder how he stayed around long enough to have a child to the woman!! At least I still like all my exes and we treat each other with respect, because there has to be a quality about someone to love, doesn't there?...but he can't stand her and doesn't respect her, so what was the point? So yes, I know just what you are saying!! Frustrating isn't it when you have to pay everyday for his poor judgement?

We all make mistakes..
There's no doubt about it.. we all make mistakes. But damn, the same thing with my b/f. He cannot stand her nor does he respect her and he stuck around long enough to have two kids!! He wanted to do the right thing by her and get engaged but she ended up cheating and he said that's enough.. as well as all the other bs!
In fact, she was high on the weekend and apparently broke up with her criminal record husband that's old enough to be her father while the kids were with her. Lied to us about where they were and what not.. any way too drained to go into now.
His ex
was married when he met her and she told him she was seperated and in the process of divorce....truth was that she was still living with her husband and he had no idea she wanted a divorce! He supposedly "rescued" her from her wretched, allegedly abusive, loveless marriage. His marriage to her ended when he caught her cheating with someone else...someone that she had told the same sob stories to about HIM...he was abusive, the marriage was loveless....
So yeah...I wonder....
Love makes people do the strangest things.....
Every Day
Every day, every call, every nasty message, every guilt trip (toward hubby). It's so bad now he doesn't want to even talk to her, or look at her. Which makes it difficult when there's 3y of CS left. Ugh. I keep hoping it will get better (since this chapter will be coming to a close soon), but it's like she knows that and needs to make his life a living hell for as long as possible. So, yes, all the time!
I have asked this same question...
quite a few (almost a million) times. It seems that my fiance's ex was a good wife/mother until she decided being married & having children were not for her after 8 years. At that point she made a 180 turn into the person she is today.... a deadbeat mother & a royal pain in the butt. Thankfully my fiance understands that I ask in bewilderment of HER behavior, etc & not because I doubt his judgemnt in character.
It's just one of those things that make you go "hmmmmm".
What doesn't kill you, will make you stronger!
Same here.
Maybe not EVERY day but pretty close. My hubby was married to her for 8 years and together for 12. Let's just say the ONLY positive thing that resulted from that dysfunctional relationship was 3 beautiful little girls. I really don't get it though - I mean she is UGLY inside and out. I'm sitting here pondering, trying to think of just ONE redeeming quality and for the life of me can not.
Hmmmmmmmm.......nope still nothing.

What were you men thinking? I think I have the answer
I totally agree with Daddysgurl! Almost word for word, that is what happened to my hubby! Except they had no children, and when they started dating, she presented a false face to him, always funloving, happy go lucky ect...(and as soon as the ring was on her finger, she morphed into what she trully is..an evil coniving BITCH) And he never asked her to marry him, she brought up the subject one night when he had been drinking, she ran with it, leaving him to wonder "what the HELL happened" He says now that he wishes his dad had stopped it.Everyone knew she was not the one for him.Her own father told his father "thank God she's out of my house now".But the joke was on him, she kept my hubby soooo broke that more than half the time they had to live with her family! And he's not free of her yet, she is still looking for handouts from her family. It was not even a year when he made plans to leave her and she somehow figured it out, and managed to get pregnant, knowing he would never leave his child, yes I know, it takes two!! That's where the WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? part comes in...THEY WEREN'T THINKING, at least not with the HEAD on their shoulders anyway!

It's uncanny
It's weird how a lot of our stories are so similar. This sounds almost exactly like what happened to my BF. He dated BM on and off for a few years, and she was never the possessive, crazy bi#%@ she is now while they were dating. She was still lazy then, though. But she put on the face like she didn't care if he went out and had fun or dated other girls. Then she decided that they needed to get married, and brought it up to him one night as he was trying to go to sleep. She badgered him about it for a few minutes, and in his half-consciousness he said "Ok fine whatever" so that she'd shut up and let him sleep. They were married very soon afterwards (he said that she put the wedding together, and it was so cheap he was embarrassed). He even tried to walk out on the wedding because he never wanted it in the first place, but his best man thought he was joking and forced him to stay (the best man is a pretty big guy). He stuck it out for a year, then decided to leave. He had literally packed all of his things and was moving out and ready to file for divorce when she asked him if he could take her to one doctor's appointment before he left. He said fine, and a few hours later was hanging his head in defeat. They were pregnant. So he moved back in and stayed for 9 more years. They became separated after about 4 more years. He stayed married in name only for a long time, then finally got a divorce.
Not only do I not understand what he was thinking, but I have to wonder...what the heck is wrong with this woman? Is she so desperate for love and so low in self-esteem that she has to trick a man to marry her, then force him to stay when he clearly wants to go by getting pregnant? And why would she continue to stay married to him through 5 years of separation? If someone doesn't love me and doesn't want to be with me, I would just let them go. The only thing you're doing by forcing them to be in a situation which they are not happy is prolonging the inevitable and making yourself unhappy because you can't force someone to love you!

so many lies...
BM can't keep her stories straight! Fortunately, I've made sure to write EVERYTHING down for the past year & a half! Fiance and BM are in the midst of a court battle for his access to SD.
(Let me insert right here that BM and Fiance are both lawyers, and she knows exactly how far she can push things legally).
Fiance used to let all of her crap slide, thinking it would be better for SD to keep the peace and 'play nice', but has finally had enough, and is standing up for himself. We had to go to court a few weeks back, just to get dates for visitation put in a court order that BM can not mess around with. Small victory, the judge was not interested in BM's accusations of fiance being a bad father, or her dragging up the past yet again.
The things this woman has said and done, is enough to make your toes curl, I could write a movie of the week. If I wasn't living this nightmare, I wouldn't believe someone could be so cold, manipulative, coniving, and down right insane... (she even offered to have a boob job if he dropped everything, and went back to her! OMG)
