WEDDING

Problem: Our wedding is 9-10-11 and its too early for me to exactly tell how custody is going to work out. Im worried that our wedding will fall on BMs weekend. There is NO way she will switch with us especially is she finds out its for our wedding.

Question: Does anyone know if there is a way to get a court order for temporary custody for something like a wedding?

We really want his kids to be at our wedding, it is very important to both of us, however BM is very mean and this would be a perfect way for her to stay in control and hurt us- preventing the kids from being at our wedding.

There is something called a temporary injunction. Im not sure if a judge would grant one for something like this but it may be worth asking an attorney.

I get married exactly a week after you!!!

I would say you should look into your court stipulations -- for example, in ours, it says that if there is a family function for the other side (such as a wedding, funeral, family reunion, or out of town family visiting) that the parent without the visitation time can request to have visitation on that weekend, if the parent WITH visitation is given at least 10 days notice and has no family events of similar nature going on. It says something about the parent needing reasonable excuse to not allow their child to attend the family event for the other side.

I would make sure yours says something like that and of course, give plenty of time for notice. I don't see why any court would rule with the BM in that case to not allow her kids to attend your wedding.
