Those darn stocking!

purpledaisies's picture

Ok I posted a little bit ago that we found the stocking. All the boys stocking after dh cleaned the shed. Now I was looking forward to buying new ones for all the boys as we bought them when the youngest was 3 and he is 11 now.

So I asked dh if I could still buy new ones for them as it has been a long time since we bought them and they are very kidish. He said no!!! Sad Sad Sad

I want so badly to buy new ones especially for my son as my sis gave my dd a new one last year and it is very nice. The ones we have are from the dollar store. Advise please. Sad

Why can't you go buy stockings if you want to? I am confused as to why you need his permission. Is it because they are sentimental, or because of the money?

It's money. But I might just go buy some. I would like the boys to be with me to pick them put though.

You could always just use the ones you have, and buy new ones super cheap after Christmas at the clearance sales. I have really nice ones that I bought that way a few years ago.

I asked about the sentimental part because I have a DH who still has all of SS 19's baby bottles stored in the attic. Yes, he does.

No nothing like that. It is just money. I seen some nice ones at hobby lobby that were about 4 or 5 a piece so not too bad. But I'm going to work on dh between now and then. }:)

Me too! We have BINS of decorations, because I buy everything at the clearance sales afterwards. I am the same way, I can't pass it up if it's only a quarter!

You should definitely buy them after they go on sale after Christmas but if you want new ones now you can always decorate them yourself! Have the kids help, too. Just use glitter, paint, whatever and each kid can decorate their own. It will make them even more special and it can be a memorable experience for all of you!
