Hey ladies -
I needed to chat with somebody and thought you'd be a good place to start. It's not really step parenting related. It's just life related.

I think I have a spending problem. I know I did in the past. But, I thought I had gotten it under control. Seems that new relationship with hubby and step daughter filled the gap for a long time. But now, hubby is really busy with building our house. I mean REALLY busy and I seem to be filling that down time with shopping.

going to something no matter how small with my stepdaughter isn't good b/c I always end up buying much more when she's with me. And then, today, I spent $135 I didn't have on myself!!! Alone!!!!

Now, I have to give myself credit for the incredible amount of will power that it took for me not to spend $250+ -- I mean, there was a lot of talking myself out of things. AND, I did successfully resist the temptation to sign up for their credit card. But, nonetheless I spent money I didn't really need to and am now left with $90 to get me through the 25th.

YIKES!

I think all women have that problem, spending $$ here and there and by the time you know it, you've spent too much. I have that temptation every weekend too. I do spend about 100 a month on just myself for clothes and stuff I really need and then about 50 for my daughter who is 5 yrs of age. You have to determine why you spend, meaning to do you get bored and therefore you go shopping or just want to have something new all the time? If you're bored, I suggest you find other ways to keep yourself busy, such as sign up your daughter to activities, so you can go watch or do a class together to keep you occupied, or hang out with your other family members. Hope this helps.
