Reiterating that I’m not the maid!!!
Here I am, yet again, and today's lesson is reiterating that I'm not the god damn maid!! SS10 is a walking pigpen... good example of how he cannot be even remotely clean in any way or responsible for picking up after himself: I can give him a cookie... I know exactly where the cookie is either consumed or to follow where it lead to BECAUSE just ONE cookie tends to get everywhere EXCEPT in this kids mouth (that just a small example of how just one simple is messy for a child, there's always more examples)
Today's lesson is clean up after brushing your teeth, if you want to say that is what actually happened in the bathroom. I am up doing my morning routine of cleaning and DH is up too, damn near a miracle for him to be up at 8/9am. SS10 is up, as well.. I'm just as surprised because him still staying up to 3/4am takes place. Moving on, DH make SS breakfast, ok cool no biggie... tells SS to brush his teeth afterwards.. Did my ear deceive me??? Did I just hear him tell SS to actually brush his teeth??? The same kid whom I had not seen brush his teeth in my home since before the pandemic had taken place??? (Oh yeah it's fucking gross because I have not seen this kid brush his teeth and I stopped telling him because he is not my responsibility to keep up with him if DH can't, be down this shitty road before and I stopped- it's his and BM child and if that how they raise him so be it)... Soooo, he goes to the bathroom- I don't hear any water come of the faucet- trust me I know when the faucet running in the house is never light it pretty voluminous) but SS spent legit a few seconds in it and comes out. DH never checks on him or sees if he's "actually" did it and also cleans up after himself. In DH's eyes he's "grown", (insert eye rolls because this kid isn't grown enough or capable of ever cleaning up him mess or even brushing teeth). I am still cleaning and then I head to the bathroom... to my surprise (but not surprised) there is toothpaste everywhere, around the sink, around the vanity, on the mirror and on the floor!!! DID HE EVEN GET ANY ON HIS ACTUAL TEETH???? Oh the tooth paste is still out with brush and in the sink. What in gods effin name happened in my bathroom!!?!? Ok, so I just use the bathroom and wash my hands in the kitchen sink!!! Why?? Because I refuse to clean up the fuckery that took place in my bathroom. I waited for DH to see it for himself... although DH had used the upstairs bathroom he went downstairs. (Ugh) hours go by and still waiting to see if DH goes in there and he hasn't. So I asked him to help me take the laundry bin downstairs so I can start laundry. As he helps me I thanked him for brining the bin down and also asked very nicely that he would need to clean the upstairs bathroom. This is where is gets good: he says why what's wrong? I again said please clean the bathroom, not your son you. He looks at me and say "what did he do now?" I told him it's not about what it's about how to take care of what it is he creates around the house that I am not in any position to clean up anymore... DH starts to get defensive: I expressed calmly and informed him that it is up to him to clean up after his own child, if he chooses to have SS clean up I prefer he is to be SHOWN how to properly clean up his own messes!! NOT to ask him to clean it up because when he does it's half fast and still a mess, plus DH never checks to see if it's been done at all he just assume this child knows what he is doing when 99% of the time he doesn't. I expressed that over time I use to clean it up but I don't feel I should- it is up to you (his father) to either show him how it's done or do it for him! Again, he's 10 not 4 (even know 4 year olds who don't make half the messes this kid does and or know that they can clean it up or ask for help). But, nevertheless is it his responsibility to parent him to do these things on his own so he knows how to for the future of himself and respect of the house, but if he has zero intentions of showing him than it's the parents responsibility to do for him until your tired of it yourself!!! I've been too lenient on being the maid from past years it's time he learns or I'm leaving it for you. DH gets defensive and responds to trying to revert or DEFLECT to my daughter (whom is 16) does she clean up after herself???
I never laughed so hard. Why? Because I taught and shown my daughter at a early age what clean up is, what importance of hygiene is, cooking, and more! Therefore I told DH- this is exactly the problem? You!!! You get upset that I tell you to clean up after your own son and get you want to ignore that he makes the mess by trying so very hard to turn it on me and or my child! I'm sorry big guy- the issue is your son made a huge mess and it is up to YOU OR HIM- whatever you decide to do the clean it the hell on up! I've raised and taught my own child the simplicity of responsibility at a early age, even earlier than your son. Therefore I don't need to continue to give you lessons of parenting. You see if for yourself every damn day! So the question you should be asking yourself is: who are you really upset with??? Me cause I told you to parent or I told you to clean up after your own child? Or should it be your own child you should upset with cause you allow him to make these messes without ever having to be responsible for himself and cleaning up? OR IS YOU BECAUSE YOU DONT PARENT HIM TO TEACH HIM THESE THINGS? I will let you ponder that, but if you want to get shit faced with me, personally I don't care I am so beyond your games of deflection! I will leave that mess there until someone does it but it isn't going to be me or my daughter!!
DH is pissed goes upstairs see the fuckery that took place in the bathroom- realized how fucking messy it is and well- then I hear him call SS and ask him if he brushed his teeth? SS says yes! DH says wth is this god damn mess in here and why do you leave it this way knowing it's a mess?!? I heard silence! DH proceeds to tell SS get in the bathroom and clean it up! Not half fast but clean it up good and that this is unacceptable how you don't think to clean up after yourself! I'm not your maid and neither is anyone one else! You are 10 and should learn that cleaning up after yourself is majorly important in growing up! If I go in there and it's still a mess I'll make you clean it up again! (Does DH show him? Nope) was my bathroom cleaned- yep! Not a spot of toothpaste in sight, tooth brush put away, mirror cleaned and etc!
Today's lesson was learned and DH may not like what I projected to him but I'm guessing he didn't want to clean up and be his sons maid so therefore he made SS do what he was supposed to!
That's all for today. Most of my post are because I'm sick and tired of reiterating myself and or because I refuse to allow unacceptable things in my home and have it ran by a child. DH May get earful a on it but hey it's either him or I go off on SS. Lesson for him is be on it with your kid or you don't have to have me on you!!!
Im outta here- but I'll be back at the same bat time and same beat channel.

You will have to repeat this
You will have to repeat this in different scenarios - but Excellent Job! I did this on a regular basis for a while with DH now he does't question it when I leave messes I did not create and HE gets to clean up after YSD14.5. He knows, knows!, she leaves things for others to clean up but doesn't have the wherewithall to freaking TELL her to clean it or the follow through to actually make sure she does. Luckily, she's not too bad but she does think the shared spaces are not hers to help clean up.
I agree!
Always different scenarios of shenanigans! It's just crazy how we are on the outside looking in on the lack on the craziness and they are clueless. Ugh!
Good for you! And stay on DH!
Good for you! And stay on DH! (And the expression is "half-assed", not "half fast". Sorry to be the grammar lady.)
Chuckled
I read the original & thought it might be intentional (to avoid typing "*ssed") and kind of cute.
Omg! I love it! "Half assed!"
Omg! I love it! "Half assed!" I dig it! Haha but it's true they are half assed with things! Haha I like that
