I'm new to the group and I'm hoping to find other parents in my situation. I just recently found out that my 3 step kids visit for the summer will be turning into a permanent visit. Their mom called me Saturday and asked if we could take them because she can't afford to keep them anymore. They are 6, 10 and 15. The 15 year old is actually my DH's step son so it makes the situation even crazier. We haven't told the kids yet and I'm making her come up and do the dirty work herself. She just did this to them the 10/11 school year and left them with her dad. We found out after they'd already been enrolled in school. Has anyone been in this situation? I'm not sure how to handle the kids after she drops this bomb on them.
