WTH?? What kind of mother says this??

I get the last minute phone call to go and pick up SS after his camping trip with Super Mom as I like to call her. I'm already irritated that they all (DH included) just assume that I can drop everything and run when she calls. I get there and have to wait for her to use the bathroom and find headphones, charger, whatever... She tries to give me some story about DH not getting her texts and sorry if I was busy. I just told her a little more notice would be nice next time.
She then puts on her big show of affection for SS and talks quietly so I can't hear (as always). He then comments, "Oh great now I'll be scared." She laughs and walks off. He gets in the car and tells me that she said, "I hope your plane doesn't crash." We are leaving next weekend for vacation - and yes, we are flying. What kind of mother says that to her own kid??? Who says that to anyone??
I kept saying, "I can't believe she would say that." He kept defending her by saying she was only kidding. I told him that she is the one who will live with it if something does happen.
To top if off, we get home and I find out he hasn't showered for a week! And yes, there were shower facilities! AND...he has frequent "accidents" at night - and he's nearly 13 so it's a VERY strong odor!

I'm thinking of taking up drinking wine just to calm my self...do you think it's too early in the day??

Thanks! I just can't get it out of my head - ugh, she is just so stupid!!
It's funny about the wine...I was looking at some at the store early today. Little did I know how much I wish I would've needed it!!

Must be something going around. BM2 told SD8 not to tell us what happens on the weekend because if she does, we will make sure BM doesn't see her for a long time.

She's right. If SD tells me that BM sleeps late while SDs severely autistic sibs are wielding knives and BM is chain smoking right in front of SD, inside the house where SD can't get away, I'm going
to interfere. On the other hand BM could certainly choose to be a better mom and I would have nothing to be concerned about.

I'm sure that my SS's BM tells him not to discuss things - and with a past history of CPS involvement, I'm sure she uses that scare tactic too!
Sometimes I wish I could be a fly on the wall..then again, it's probably best that I can't!
