It's a Vent

Last week I picked SS15 up from school. SD16 goes to the same school but we do not allow her at our house because of BM/SD issues.

BM was late picking her up and she did not realize that I was in the parking lot. I usually pick him up out on the street but because of the weather, I've changed the pick up location. When she saw me, I could see her face turn bright red with rage.

Yesterday when I went she made sure she was there early. Today, I was up front and thought it would be great to not see her. But no, BM cuts the line and backs her big ass SUV in front of me.

Week 8: Made it Through Thanksgiving

I made a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. DH made the turkey and stuffing, I made all the trimmings. We had SS13, SS15, my 3 adult bio's and niece. SD35 and her family came for dessert.

I managed to not over stuff my plate or myself. I passed on gravy and rolls, avoided purchasing my favorite pie for dessert. I did have a half of a slice of pumpkin pie and didn't feel stuffed.

I weighed in on Monday and lost 1.1 pounds. I should be happy that I made it through a holiday successfully but I feel bummed. I thought I did really well and felt disappointed it wasn't more.

Week 6: I hit my first big goal!

I can't believe it's been 6 weeks when I decided to take care of my health. I can't get over the changes that I have made and the results.

I weighed in and I have officially lost 10% of my body weight. My reward? A massage coming soon! Now I need to set my goal on the next 10% but I'm focusing on 10lb segments and number groups. It keeps me focused in small goals instead of the big picture otherwise I will become really discouraged.

Week 5: And I Stayed the Course!

Went to my weigh in and nutrition class today and I'm very, very pleased so far.

I have my blood pressure and pulse checked every week. This is the second week in a row that my blood pressure is back to it's normal range, 118/70. Last week it was 112/66. So I'm happy to see it getting back to normal. This week I lost 7.5 pounds for a total of 27.5 pounds in 5 weeks. The Dr. said that for the amount of weight I've lost most people take 9 weeks to achieve. So I'm feeling pleased with my progress.

Week 4: And Hanging in There!

Last week went real well until I went to our church's 125th celebration and then I went wild!

Yup, I did wonderfully all week long and was feeling great until Sunday. We had a reception at our church followed by a dinner. I started out the day with my usual breakfast and decaf coffee. Then I caved and ate EVERYTHING. I just kept piling it on and at the end of the day I came home and just had to brush my teeth because they felt nasty.

Week 3: Losing and Fighting for ME!

It's the third week of weighing in and I'm amazed how clear my thinking is when I'm not numbing my feelings.

I weighed in tonight and lost 5.1 pounds this week. So now I've lost 19.1 pounds and I've worked hard for it. I've been more aware that all the medical issues that could become worse if I didn't lose weight and realizing nothing is going to jeopardize my goal no matter what.
