Week 2: Some Good News and then Some Bad
Went to see the Dr. for my second week check up.
It was a tough week. I was wanting less and less of the shakes and really wanted to taste food. So I began doing a little of both and winging it until I saw the Dr. Well to my surprise I lost 2.5 pounds this week! So now I'm at a total of 14 pounds in 2 weeks. I had some bad news too. A couple of weeks ago I had some lab work done and I got the results...I'm now pre- diabetic. So now I can add that to the list of high blood pressure, sleep apnea and reflux. All of them can be cured by weight loss, diet and exercise. And more reason to not get involved in the crazy.
I did ask DH to support me in this by sending me flowers when I hit a mile stone of success. Last week he gave me the prettiest autumn arrangement
One Day at a Time for me.

Congrats on week 2. Often
Congrats on week 2. Often the second week is harder than the first and you continued to make progress. Being pre-diabetic is not a bad thing. Consider it a warning and motivation to keep going. I have type II diabetes and take insulin. Although mine is largely hereditary and under control, I still would not wish it on anyone, not even BM. Yes, it is manageable but doing what you need to be healthy and not develop it is much easier. Exercise is key to preventing it in my opinion. Increased activity keeps your metabolism up and keeps your body working the way it should.
Congrats again on your progress!
